The actual scanning is easy, efficient and very satisfactory. However after 6 months of no problems the scanner has taken control of photo editing permissions. Permissions can be changed one picture at a time in Windows Properties, but this defeats the benefit of being able to scan many pictures if you then have to go in and reset the properties of each one.

I am impressed with the performance of the Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless scanner. It is quite fast, robust, easy to use. It is a true value for money. I was able to convert my 30 years old dimmed and faded photos to bright ones which refreshed my memories and made my family excited about our old traveling and trips.

The installation instructions were difficult to follow, especially the sequence of steps (i.e. don't plug in until you do this; don't connect the scanner to the computer until you do that.) This is really counter-intuitive. Normally the first thing you do is plug the equipment in. Also your Product Registration form is so small, I mean tiny, I couldn't read it without getting out a magnifying glass. I couldn't figure out how to make the form larger. Even with my bifocal glasses I couldn't make out what to put in the registration boxes. There has to be a better way. Your written instructions that came with the device are confusing. It should be easy for you merely to say, in big bold print: "Before you do anything go on the internet at …….. and download the installation instructions" So, my rating is your program instructions are ready for prime time and you get a fail.

the FASTFOTO FF-680 W scanners; it is a scanner of great quality and of good price; quickly scan 35 photos horizontally with a beautiful color and brightness; works wirelessly for cell phone and tablet by means of interneth; first black and white colors; color and grays. very good scanners. I recommend it.

I was looking for a good scanner for months. It was more than I wanted to spend, but worth it to get these high quality digital copies of my old photos. It will detect if there is writing on the back of the pictures and scan that too. It lets you compare the original photos with the fixed up ones. Only thing I would change is I wish it could scan documents too.

Everytime I scan using fast foto I get a twain error. This is apparently because the twain scanning protocol is old and not supported in windows 10. The Scan button on the scanner does nothing so all scan have to start from the app. Pushing scan data to a computer is not hard since every other scanner can do it.

Right out of the box this product has easy to follow instructions on the "start here" paper to download and install drivers, also helpful instructions on how to connect to the wireless network, which my laptop easily found and paired with by using the wi-fi connect button located on the scanner. A usb cord is provided just in case there is no wi-fi, or user preference. I am amazed by the speed the scanner takes to scan photos, documents and the resolution levels which range from 300 dpi (takes 1 sec.), 600 dpi (takes 3 sec) and 1200 dpi (takes 10 sec). This Wireless High-speed Scanning System has a setting for panoramic and instant photos, which are great for Polaroids, and can scan up to 36 photos at a time depending on size and thickness. The scanner feed functioned properly every time and had no jam or scanning feed issues. I save receipts and lots of old photos that I am wanting to save digitally onto google Onedrive and can be uploaded to Dropbox as well as enhance when scanning, so this Epson FastFoto Scanner System is perfect and ideal for my needs! The provided carrier sheet included is best when used for protecting wrinkled, fragile, old and valuable pictures & documents. I like that Epson included a downloadable pdf format user manual that can be printed too (120 pages long) to get more information and details of Epson FastFoto scanner and advanced settings. Although I miss having physical installation cd discs, I think it's easier having the link to download everything the scanner needs and can set itself up.Despite having the auto rotation checked in advanced settings, when editing scanned pictures, I still had to click the rotate twice to get pictures positioned upright, but other than that I love how much better looking, brighter with higher clarity and image quality resulting from every scan! This is without a doubt the best scanner that I have ever owned. I was originally interested it the Epson FastFoto FF-680W Wireless Hight Speed Photo and Document Scanner for use only as a document scanner and it sure does impress. It will auto feed and scan double sided documents faster than I thought possible. The optical character recognition software does a great job reading and converting the text. The free trial of the included receipt manager is a great bonus. I will continue to use every day for scanning documents. But where this scanner truly shines at scanning photos. It can scan not only the front, but the back of a photo (dates/hand written notes/etc) quickly and with great quality. And the included software will auto organize, label, and even touch up or restore your old photo prints with great efficiency. Just search the internet for videos of this scanner in action and I guarantee that you will be impressed. The only down side I have found is that when the scanner is connected via wifi, and turned on, your computer will give you constant popup notifications advising that the scanner is ready for use. This can be fixed by disabling the Epson software at startup in your pc setting, but I wish and hope that Epson will fix this issue with a software update soon, and this is a minor flaw in an otherwise great product. I bought this before I moved to a new house. My plan was to scan all the paperwork we stashed all over so we could shred the hard copies. It took a few minutes to figure out how to use it. I found that it didn't accept pages that were torn or crumpled, but by inserting them into the scanning sheets they went through with no problem. It was so, so easy and so fast! Scanning all these documents saved me carting around piles of files. Now they are safely stored and easy to retrieve on my computer and backup thumb drive.

I bought this scanner recently so I could start preserving my old photographs. I cannot believe how quickly the scanner works! I was able to scan over 100 photos in a very short amount of time. It would have taken me days with old old printer/scanner. I would recommend this photo scanner to anyone who has a large number of print photos that they are looking to scan.
