I bought this for myself for Christmas, hoping to scan all the family photos. Because there is no scan driver for an iPad at this time, I was unable to use the scanner. I borrowed a laptop from a friend and was able to scan just fine. The photos scan very fast, does batch scanning, even clears up imperfections and red-eyes. I absolutely love it! The only thing they could do better is to have a downloadable app/driver for mobile devices so I don’t have to borrow my friends laptop to use it. I can run my TV as a remote with my phone and tablet, I should be able to work computer equipment as well.

If you're going to make a scanner that interfaces with Apple products you should adhere to the standard Apple has set for ease of use and User Experience. I give this product an F for its difficulty of set up. The user experience of setting this machine up is crazy making.

I must add to the review tile: when it works. It's like the little girl with a curl... when it's good it's outstanding, but when it's bad... can't figure it out. Most likely my inexperience but the instructions don't always tell everything. I've been madly scanning old photos and cards for several months. The last week it wouldn't scan; paper got stuck, anything thicker than paper would jam, proof size photos stay stuck. I was looking for a support info when this popped up. Great timing, and timing IS everything. Hoping the reinstallation of drivers etc will help resolve my few issues. Other than that, I've been able to speed scan a few hundred old photos for my family genealogy project and decrease the photo footprint in my home.

With thousands of old prints, I needed a tool to save them. The scanner is fast and offers many options. My only negative is that in the FastFoto software there is no utility to descreen old mat prints, of which I have many. I would hope that in a future release of the software that this issue is resolved.

On the first run, the scanner works well. However, setup was a challenge. All the avaiable documentation and everything I could find on the web said that the scanned could only be connective via WPS. This is a problem as most modern WiFi routers don’t support his insecure protol. It took a contact with support to find the procedure in the installation application.

At first try, hooking the usb cable, i followed all directions, and started to install and download all files needed for the scanner. right at the 99% point, it stated it could not go through the process anymore. after several attempts, I completely uninstalled everything and then went with the wi-fi route and everything went fine. I love all the extra programs that come with the scanner to enhance and edit the photos.I liked there was no cd"s to install anything with. everything worked perfect and not a bit of trouble working with this scanner. It is one of the best ,if not the finest scanner i have ever had. This is a review for the Epson FastFoto-680W wireless High Speed photo and document Scanner System that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I bought this about a year ago. I am pleased with it. I scan both documents and photos. Two things that it cannot do: 1) Scan glossy photos that were made from a polaroid instant camera. 2) Will not scan a document that has another piece of paper taped onto it.

I work in an office at a funeral home. We purchased this scanner because many times families will bring in many family photos to be used in a memorial DVD for their loved one. With our flat bed scanner, scanning 30+ photos is time consuming and many times can cause us to fall behind on our tasks. But since we've gotten the Epson scanner, we can scan multiple photos at once which is extremely helpful for our time sensitive tasks. My colleague and I were also pleasantly surprised at the quality at some of the touching up/ enhancements that it can give to older and faded photos. All in all, we are very happy with our scanner and thankful for the amount of time it has saved us in the short time we've had it.

I recently purchased The FF 680W in hopes to get better image quality in the photos I scanned compared to my document scanner. However, I'm very sorry to report that the quality of the images is very poor. It's great that you can scan quickly and at high resolution but it's negated by the terrible "noise" and grain present in the images.

thousands of pics to scan and the software is junk. I had scanned several hundred before I realized it wasn't saving them. I've uninstalled re installed so many times! Been of the phone with tech support with no help. this great piece of equipment and you couldn't find some genius kid to write your software?? I will be returning. SMH
