My search for a credible photo scanner has finally ended

I, like many of us, have a ton of photos from 1950s (parents time) till almost late 80s and needed a simple to use, high speed and smart photo scanner. Was tired of 1 picture at a time scanners that do not work with OSX and general purpose scanners that are dumb when it comes to high volume photo scanning. I finally have my problem resolved with the FF-680W. what I love is that it can handle paper scanning A4, B*, Legal and a ton of other sizes gracefully. Helps me get rid of a whole filing cabinet of files. Great job Epson. Love you guys for this product. This is now part of my dream home office set up. Sits pretty with the small foot print and is available on demand working on USB and wireless .... great product. glad I bought it....

Epson FF-680W Breakthrough Scanner

The scanner has been a great tool for digitizing our years of family photos stored in dusty photo albums. It’s amazing to watch it pump though a stack of photos even at high resolution. Our struggle has been finding a good cloud app with the needed folder management system to display and share them with family and friends. I think one software change would help me significantly. The software does a good job incrementally identifying each photo file name as it’s scanned. However most Cloud apps sort photos by origination date and the Epson software applies the same date and time to every photo. Unfortunately when you scan 100 photos in the order you want them displayed the Cloud software randomly displays the images. This is frustrating and forces you to spend hours manually reordering them afterward. I could use an option that allowed the software to incrementally add one minute to each photo so that they’ll remain in the sequence they’re scanned.

Awesone Photo Scanner

Bought this along with an ES-60W scanner to arvhive boxes of old photos and I'm so glad I did. This machine is absolutrly amazing and fast. It scans both sides of the photo if it detects information, otherwise it skips the backside. It came with a carrier sheet to use with frayed, odd sized, turn clippings and etc.. I highly recommend this scanner to anyone wishing to scan lots of photos. It has saved me many, many days of work due the speed and capability. The only complaint, is that I wish you could change the file path and name descrioption from the scan button screen, rather than selecting Done andventering the settings option. I would also, suggest getting the ES-60W scanner for scanning photos to thick (Poloroid) or too small to feed through the FastFoto scanner. You'll thank me for it. I have over 6000 photos to archive.

Set Up of this Machine Is in the Dark Ages

If you're going to make a scanner that interfaces with Apple products you should adhere to the standard Apple has set for ease of use and User Experience. I give this product an F for its difficulty of set up. The user experience of setting this machine up is crazy making.

Wonderful Product

The Epson F2F 680 product that I received is new in the box perfect condition with everything in the box, it included the manual instruction and every component needed to function. As I connected from my laptop to the printer and follow the step by step instructions, very easy and explainable I had no complications and no problem getting it to function. Epson scanner guide me visually how to open files to include my documents and my pictures easy unexplainable I found it to be a wonderful tool in a work office, in a house or just for fun. Uploading your pictures so that they won't get ruined and keep them in good self place anytime you want to download or blow up a picture for your home for a friend or just to send to a family member. I found it to be a very convenient product very useful now I don't have to keep bags of receipts, folders of documents. Now I could upload it to a file on my home PC or my laptop and take it with me everywhere I go I can open any documents at any given moment without running around. I have it right at the palm of my hand. Personally I would recommend this product to anyone. Easy to use.

I received this scanner a few days ago and I’m pleasantly surprised at the quality of the photos that were transported to my computer. It is lite weight and compact so it fits on the desk quite nicely. I was able to scan multiple photos at once and organize them efficiently on my computer. I’m looking forward to using it on a variety of projects. One awesome scanner

The Epson FastFoto FF-680W is an awesome photo/document scanner that packs a lot of speed and features for its small size. This scanner is a huge timesaver if you have a lot of photos to scan. The scanner is relatively small for a high-speed scanner, and the build quality is excellent. I am very impressed that the scanner can scan photos at a speed of 80ppm and at the quality of 1200dpi. It connects to your computer via USB 3.0 or Wi-Fi connection. It has the ability to scan duplex and drop out blank pages which is really nice in my opinion. I have used alot of scanner software in my time and I have found the epson scanning software to really good out of the box. It is fast, efficient, and no matter what your computer knowledge it is really easy to use. As a photographer I scan alot of documents and photos for clients, along with doing restoration work and this scanner was incredible to work with. I would recommend this hands down to other scanners. Excellent Scanner

I received a small and light equipment to scan photos and documents and it is excellent. I am not very expert with the electronics but I managed to install the software following the instructions, it took a while but I could do it without any problem and with the newest version of it, it is currently connected to the PC through the USB cable that it brings, but also I can connect to it from my cell phone to scan and send the file to Google Drive, which is the program I use to archive my documents. I'm using it to basically scan the hundreds of drawings my 7-year-old daughter has made since she learned to hold a pencil, so the arrangement of the tray as a common printer is quite practical for that, and I have to emphasize that it is very quick the process because I can put several of the drawings at once and thus keep me unoccupied, in terms of the quality of the image is excellent and maintains the details and colors, I can almost say that it improves and highlights the colors. My family in the distance is happy to see the album I'm completing on Facebook with my new team and my daughter happy to see her artwork on the computer. Thank you so much. Misleading on works with Mac

I bought this to use with my 2024 iMac, as the ad said it was Mac compatible, but I was shocked that in trying to download software it seems it could only be loaded on an iPad or iPhone. I had to borrow my son's iPad (which did NOT make him happy) in order to load the software and use it to scan photos. The scanner did handle various photos beautifully, but the ads for the product are misleading. You seem lightyears behind Apple versions of OS, and that is a big flaw.
