Quiet and strong breeze

I purchased the fan in early to mid May from my local Sam's. I used the fan 2 or 3 times and it worked no problem although it did produce a rather annoying humming sound. I tried to use the fan today and it doesn't turn on. I am very disappointed but rather thankful Sam's will let me return it with no box. It would have sucked to lose out on $50 due to the fan failing on its own.

The previous 48" Lasko Tower fan I had was a five star product. This particular model is quite disappointing. For starters the direction of air flow is skewed from what would be straight ahead from the grill and the swath of the flow itself is narrow. Those two characteristics make it tough to get the fan pointed by hand in the right direction without some trial and error each time the fan is moved or when using the oscillating feature to find the correct spot to halt the sweep and leave it in a stationary position. The fan starts on high speed regardless of its setting when it was turned off which is just one more thing to deal with each time it is turned on. At both the high and medium power settings the noise level is louder than I'd expect for a Lasko product. Even at low speed it's not anything like whisper quiet.

I just bought this fan 2 days ago and I'm glad I did. The base is super easy to put together and is sturdy on my carpet. The highest setting of 4 is perfect if you want to feel like your outside on a cold, windy day. I did not so I have it down to 1 which works perfectly to keep me cool (my AC is set at 72). The

I use this fan daily and love that it has a remote control and that you can change the speed, ionization, and power on or off from the comfort of your couch, chair, or bed. Nice and powerful when on the lower setting of 1. I'm thinking of getting another one for the living room.

This unit delivers on its promises. It moves air very well and is very quiet. I usually just crank up most fans to the highest level but this one keeps my study cool on low. I have an office in one the 2nd floor bedrooms and it really circulates the air well. It includes a remote control for added convenience. Very pleased with the performance.

I got a dud, i really wanted to like this fan. It put out a good amount of air and contains nice features for tower fan. However, every time I turned it on, even at the lowest setting, all I could hear was the fan vibrating. I do not require complete silence from a fan, but this was unbearable and had to be returned. Ultimately, this is a nice fan, but not comfortable trying another.
