Don't be 'one of those guys' while camping

I bought this to use with our 26 ft. camper. Sites with hook-ups are becoming more difficult to get with the increase in post-pandemic campers. I wanted to have full use of my camper but didn't want to listen to (or have my neighbors listen to) a loud, open-frame generator. This generator is SO quiet. It is barely louder than ambient noise at the campground when sitting in our site, and is virtually in-audible by the time you are 50 ft away. Set up was super easy. Connect battery cables. Add oil and good gas (91 octane with zero ethanol is BEST.). Turn on and push start... It is very well built. None of the problems noted in other reviews. My only 'complaints' is the weight and the oil drain design. 100+ pounds seems heavy for a unit this size. But I knew the weight prior to buying it. The oil drain design could use some work. A 4" hose that would slip out through the bottom oil drain port would be a HUGE improvement.

Price is right

I bought 1 and put the whole package of oil in and I believe that caused it not to start. I took it back and exchanged it for another identical one, this time I didn't use the whole amount of oil provided. The 2nd one works like a champ, first pull start for now. Have not had an opportunity to run for extended times so will have to update this review at a later time. I work construction and have been around many Generac products without any issues and was a driving force in my purchase.

Soooo quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The iQ3800DF generator by Generac exceeded my expectations by a mile! Out of the box, it come practically assembled. All you have to do is add the supplied oil and gas and it is ready to start up. The dual functionality of gas and propane is one of many excellent features. It has a pull start as well as an electric push start button thanks to the supplied internal battery. My favorite part of this generator is the low sound levels. I could not believe how quite this unit is! If you activate to "ECO" mode, it lowers sound levels another (in my estimation) another 25-30%. Maintenance seems to be easy! There is an easily accessible oil drain to make oil changes a breeze. Overall, this a fantastic generator and I highly recommend a Generac to anyone looking for a quality portable genrator!

Generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generac Power Systems iQ3800 Duel Fuel Portable generator is very durable. Has a quite noise level. The push button on/ off doesn’t work. It may be the battery, but pull start works great. Easy to put oil in and maintenance is very easy to do.

Ready When We Need It!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was lucky enough to receive the Generac Dual Fuel Portable Generator as a gift from Influenster for review, and while we haven’t needed to put it to the test yet (thankfully, no power outages!), I can already tell this is a game-changer for our home. From the moment it arrived, I was impressed. The generator feels incredibly well-built — solid, durable, and thoughtfully designed. The dual fuel capability was one of the first features that caught my attention; being able to choose between gasoline and propane adds so much flexibility and peace of mind, especially during emergencies when fuel availability can be unpredictable. Setting it up was straightforward. The instructions were clear, and the controls are easy to understand, even for someone who isn’t super experienced with generators. I also love that it comes with a mobility kit, making it much easier to move into place if and when we need it. While we haven’t had the chance to run it yet, just knowing we have a reliable, high-powered backup ready to go is a huge comfort. I truly appreciate that Influenster gave us the opportunity to be ready for whatever comes our way. Can’t wait to update this review once we officially put the Generac to work — but for now, it’s getting five stars just for the quality, design, and peace of mind it brings.

Camping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a smaller capacity generator - best for camping or just keeping the lights on during a power outage. It is heavy, but pretty easy to move with the handle and wheels. It has several different power outlets. We plan to use it mostly for our family's camper.

Does not provide output power matching specs

This generator is supposed to deliver 2200w running power but we have found it automatically shuts down when we connect a load of 1700w. It does run well with a load of 1300w. The size and weight of the generator is great and it doesn't make too much noise. The run time is rather short due to its small size so limited capacity gas tank.

This product let me down

I purchased your iq3500 in August of 2022 and used it to power my RV twice in less than a year . The Electric start quite working in June is 2023 (less than one year ) , I checked the battery it was good . Would not do anything, I assume the starter went bad . Then I pull started it , started fine first 2 times . The third time that I tried to pull start it the pull start rope broke . The unit is less than a year old and has only been pull started 3 times and the rope broke and starter quite working . Very disappointed with the quality, hopefully they honor their warranty.

Runs good, good value, but hard to start- found workaround

I bought the GP2500i new a the beginning of December 2021 to provide some backup power if the electricity went out. I wasn't looking for a home backup- just to charge cellphones, led lights, run a single 1500W heater, power the fridge or freezer now and then to keep things from spoiling. From the unit's initial start-up, it took 5+ pulls to get it started. Successive starts were the same. 8-10 pulls to get it to start. Fresh fuel, 90+ Octane, no difference. From other reviewers on other websites, this seems to be a problem with this unit. However, I saw a post from a reviewer on another website with the same problem and he suggested 5-6 slow pulls with the unit set on Run, flip to Choke and then quick tugs to start. I tried his suggestion and it worked- 6 slow pulls followed by 3 actual quick pulls and it started and ran with no problems. I then ran it 20 min with 3/4 load. Stopped it for 5 mins to add fuel and it restarted on Run with 1 pull. This is with 60 day old, 91 octane gas treated for ethanol and storage protection. I would give the unit 5 stars if it started better. Other than that, it's a a great value for the money for the usable wattage it has. I hope this information is helpful.
