The fresh litter smells bad enough, but the used litter mixed with urine creates a strong ammonia smell that makes it almost impossible to breathe because it burns so badly. I can't imagine how bad it's been for my two cats, despite constant upkeep. I went through the tub as quickly as possible because I couldn't afford to just throw it and buy new, better litter. It also clumps very badly and disintegrates into a fine, dark powder when you try to scoop it, which doesn't help with odor control. The bottom of the litter box turned into a mass of stinking clay that I had to scrape to get out. And it's irritated my cats' skin, they've been itching like mad since we got this. No fleas or ticks. I've given them a bath with cat shampoo to try to help get the chemicals off and ease the irritation. On top of that, due to the way the litter disintegrated into a fine, dark powder when disturbed, it stuck between my cats' paws and was carried all around the house.

It's true, it smells great! However, it's also true that it doesn't clump all too well. That's also probably another factor playing into the low dust. Sometimes I mix the dustier store brand with this one so that I have the odor fighting power and the clumping power.

I am so glad I switched to this kitty litter! I live in a really small apartment with my one cat. I keep the kitty litter in my bathroom, which is right next to my bedroom. I was so tired of smelling everything in my bedroom from the litter box. I noticed this product and how it had Glade added to it and decided to try it. It smells very fresh and I can barely smell anything now. It does a great job keeping the litter smelling fresh and masking odors. My cat has not had a problem with it, she used it right away and hasn't kicked any of it out so far. It clumps nicely, so clean up is a breeze. Will never use anything else!

I am a longtime TC buyer and thought I would try this kind for a change, bought the huge pail of it from Walmart. Upon opening it I was knocked back by the overpowering sickening rotten fruit and chemical smell of this litter. I can't stand it and feel bad for my cats who are stuck using it for the time. I wish I could return this! You really need to go back to the drawing board with this one!

I regularly scoop the box and change the litter, but would always smell it anyway. Tidy Cats Lightweight formula is by far the best litter I have used. It clumps well and encloses odors so you can easily scoop it out. Since this is Lightweight, I can pour and carry the litter easily. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to try this litter. I love Glade and I love Tidy Cats. What an awesome combination! It does a really great job masking the smell inside the litter box. It minimizes the mess when my cat gets out of the litter box too because it doesn't stick to her paws like other litters do. I was really surprised that my cat was so comfortable trying it out. She really loved the feel of it and had no problem switching from her old litter to this one. I think I definitely will buy this for her in the future! I recommend it because of the easy cleanup and the amazing scent!!
