By Far The Best Tires..

I purchased 4 brand new Defender's 225/60R16 98T for my pristine 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis GS w/ Handling and Performance Package. I also had the tires filled with nitrogen, the front end aligned, and brakes replaced with high end ceramic pads and new high end rotors, from a very respectable national auto parts store. We just had our first major snow storm in Chicago, and these tires are just outstanding, I'm very impressed. My car is a full sized sedan with a V8, RWD. The car handles just as good as sports cars on the road and rides great. I went up unplowed hills, came to a complete stop and the tires dug in and went. Highly recommended.

Didn't Last

I bought Michelin Defender tires in September 2014. I am having to replace them as my car failed the safety inspection in North Carolina. The 90,000 mile Defenders lasted 25,000 miles. They are being replaced with the same tires and Michelin is charging me a prorated price. I rotated my tires every 4-5,000 miles each time I would change my oil. I used to use Michelin Harmony tires in Ohio and never had an issue. I moved from Ohio to North Carolina. I used Harmony in Ohio and began using these Defenders in North Carolina. I guess we will see how long these last.

Didn't last at all

I bought these tires hoping I wouldn't have to replace my tires again for a while... They went just over 25,000 miles and all the tread is gone!!! I am replacing them after just a few months of owning them and I rotated them each oil change and did all the proper maintenance according the my tire shop. I use my car as a daily commuter and nothing else. This was my first and last time buying Michelin tires.

Defenders wore out in 50000 miles on a Civic!

Have bought Michelins for 30 years and very disappointed. My daughter only got 53000 miles on a tire supposed to last 90000. Tire rides and handles great but wear was ridiculous. Have same tire on my Impala, 38000 miles and look about half worn. May try Michelins again but never the Defenders.

Dry Rot

I have purchased top-end Michelin tires for 25 years. The last 2 cars I've had to replace tires very early due to dry rot. The first car (Pilot) I thought was a fluke, now my Ridgeline LTX M/S tires were extremely dry-rotted at 40k miles needed replacement. I replaced with the new Defender LTX M/S out of sheer loyalty and/or laziness. Does anyone else see this pattern?

A little pricey but worth it

After 71,000 miles of highway driving on my 2014 truck, I opted for the next size up because the tire shop did not have my factory size. The Michelin Defender is a fantastic tire for better traction, ride comfort, road noise and looks. Only time will tell on how long they last. They don't squeal in tight turns or slip on take off from a stop like my factory tires did. I should have ordered the factory size because I immediately noticed a little over 1 mile per gallon drop in mileage because the computer sensed the resistance from the taller tires and is in 8 cylinder mode more often than before.

Awesome tires, smooth riding and very quiet tires

I used to have bfgoodrich on my Buick but was in need of new tires and I chose to look at Michelin Defenders fort Buick, they were expensive but they were well worth the money I spent on them, I knew the minute I started driving that I made the best choice in buying these tires.

Exceed Expectations

I bought a set of Defenders last winter. Thankfully, because it was a wicked winter on the roads. I'm a commuter - over an hour on the highway each way in a Honda Civic. These tires met and exceeded expectations. 5 stars Great value. Excellent product

20,000 Miles and Tires are Worn & Need to be Replaced

I purchased these tires less than 2 years ago and only have 20,000 miles on them. The measured tread depth is is only 7/'32 and they are "worn" so they will need to be replaced very soon. .I have taken care of them @ the dealership with regular rotations & alignments . The tires require air in them every 3 weeks & the the road noise is terrible. I am very unhappy and dissatisfied with these tires. I will never buy Michelin tires again. How disappointing because Michelin use to have good tires that would last.

Mileage Warranty Does not Jive

Had Michelin tires my entire life. Bought these tires through local dealer in 2014. Took exceptional care of the tires, balance and rotated every 3000 miles from day one. Constantly checking air pressure. Took car in for rotation and rebalance with less than 43000 miles on tires only to find out tires are within 1/32 of being wore out. They only registered 3/32 on all tires. These are 90000 mile tires highway driven daily. What a joke!!
