Easy pick for solid all-season performance

2012 Honda Fit Sport (5-speed).  Good traction in the wet.  Good traction in the dry.  Quiet tires compared to the Yokohamas that were on the car before.  A little softer in the corners, but I like how the tires do not track as easily with grooves in the road surface.  Driven 25 miles a day on a mix of side streets, 4 lane roads, and highways.  I only use these in the non-snow seasons.  Easy pick for compact cars in my experience.  Hope this review helps.

Good quiet tires!

These were rated highly by a highly respectable consumer group.  These tires are quiet and ride solidly with no slippage on wet pavement. Haven't had them long and haven't put many miles yet, so we'll see if they hold up as I am a low mileage driver.

Quality general purpose touring tire.

A quiet, stable touring tire. When I went to get tires, I told my salesperson wet traction was my number one concern, and these were recommended. Alas, not so good in that department, but a very decent tire otherwise. Quietness was my number two concern. Who needs to add hum to all the rest of the road noises? For the price, these are good in that respect.

Terrific tire!

My upon service at my Subaru dealer and needing new tires, my service advisor recommended the General Altimax RT43 for my 2015 Outback.  I am so glad I went with his recommendation.  That tire has improved the ride, comfort level, handling and stability of the car greatly.

So far, so good

After a hot summer, they appear to be riding stiffer (hardening of the compound?) when I hit a bump and transmitting it through my van's cabin. So many opinions out there... I basically took a chance on a tire and brand for cost savings and based on a few positive reviews for performance on a mini van.   They handle well enough, look sharp enough, maintain their pressure well enough.

Great combination of ride and handling

Have had these for about a month, using on my 86 Mercedes 560SL.  So far I'm very impressed by the tires - fantastic handling, ride is smooth with very minimal road noise at all (a vast improvement over previous tires).  Will have to wait a year or two to assess the treadwear overall - but I'm really impressed, especially with the value here of quality versus price.

Very good performance and price

In Nov. & Dec., 2017, I bought 3 sets of 4 Altimax RT43s, for my AWD Equinox, my spouse's FWD minivan, and for daughter's FWD Kia Spectra.  We have 15,000 miles on all these tires.  It's been a snowy winter in NE PA, and these tires have been very good in snow & rain.  They were near the top of the list in CR's 2018 Buying Guide, which is one of two reasons I chose them.  The other reason is the price was very good compared to other name brands.  They appear to have little wear them after 5 months.  I am very pleased with the Altimax RT43s.

Tires are doing the job.

I bought these tires about a year ago.  I've put over 25,000 miles on them.  They are quiet, have good grip on corners, and handle water well.  I had good luck with the General Grabbers ATs on my truck and like the General brand.  These tires did not disappoint.  I've only driven in snow a few times as I usually drive my truck on snowy weather days.  The tires are not bad on snow and I had no problems with them in snowy driving conditions.  I would advise a friend to buy these tires and will probably replace them with the same tires when the time comes.

Nice quiet ride.  Good handling wet or dry.

Needed to replace original tires from the manufacturer.  These were recommended thru research on my own and personnel from 2 different Subaru dealers.  Good handling.  Nice quiet ride.  Good in dry or wet conditions.  Great value for price/quality.  Would recommend doing and buy again.

My ""Go To"" tire is the Alitimax RT43

I work in the automotive field and recommend tires for specific applications to clients on a daily basis. The Altimax RT43 has become a very common and practical choice for many drivers, myself included. No other tire in it's price range comes close to delivering the reliable performance and longevity of the Altimax RT43. I even installed a set on my college-bound daughter's car. I guess you could say that the Altimax RT43 also delivers a secure state of mind too!
