So far, so great!

I bought these tires for my 2011 Chevy Aveo. I've never had good handling in the rain and these aren't much better but they are the best tires I've had so far. I typically drive 20,000-30,000 miles per year and Michelin doesn't make an all-season tire for my car, they only make a snow tire, that's why I bought these tires. They handle great on dry and snowy surfaces but in the rain they are bad. I think it's just the 2011 Chevy Aveo that has bad handling, so I can't fault the General Altimax R43.

Great Tire for my 2005 Equinox!

I had the AltiMax RT43 on my Equinox for over a year now. We live in northern Illinois. Great traction in the rain & snow, and good traction on the icy roads. I bought a second set for my 2006 Grand Prix. They are currently my ""go to"" tire for all my vehicles.

Noisy but Safe

These tires are noisier than average as indicated in Consumer Reports but worth it for the safety of performance. Used on a 2011 Kia Sorento two-wheel-drive SUV the noise level on most interstate highway speeds would be objectionable to people who are used to riding in luxury cars but would seem fine to jeep and older pickup truck drivers.  In my application steering is incredibly precise and very controllable under all conditions. I don't know about traction because I have never had wheel slip occur in either acceleration or braking, possibly partly because I don't tailgate in order to save fuel.

Great tire for the money

I bought a set of these about 10 months ago because I knew I would be driving to Knoxville, TN twice during the summer and a lot around here and my old tires were showing their age too much to be safe at interstate speeds. They have proven to be a good choice.

Excellent value and solid performance

Installed on 2002 Civic LX Sedan.  Tires do everything very well: ride quality, road noise, mileage, wet handling, really nice tires.  When I first installed them, feed back felt a little vague, especially when cornering at high speeds, maybe a little under steer.  With several thousand miles on them, they've become more predictable. Nice.

Quality, Comfort, Safety at a reasonable price

This is my second set of Altimax RT43's. The first set is on a 2011 Hyundai Genesis Sedan. They are quiet and are wearing like iron. The second set is on a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Grand Touring and have improved the ride and handling over the tires that were previously on the car. I am extremely satisfied and based on experience, I will buy Generals again.

99 TOYOTA CAMRY

I had Altimaxes on my last car, a 98 Corolla, that were wonderful and lasted forever. That's why I have them on my beautiful 1999 Camry. They are even longer lasting than they were on my Corolla.  The only negative I have, which is my reason for removing one star, has to do with the Tire Wear Monitor built into the tread. The problem is I don't want or need anything that tells me or possibly an overzealous inspector when my tires need changing out. I make that call... period!   Worn tires need to be replaced at the correct time, when things like funds are available, not at Xmas time, the tires with fresh date codes must be in stock, it's prior to Winter, when I have the time, etc. It's not like these well made tires will explode or lose all traction the day after a wear indicator shows through the tread. But if at inspection, an insector fails my car because the unnecessary tire indicator says ""REPLACE TIRE"", I'll be upset. Again. It's my call and my responsibility, so General... listen up.... instead of a useless tire wear monitor, just give the rubber back to the tire you removed to create the stupid monitor which will give it a bit more life.

Great tires for larger autos.

This is my second set of these tires on my 2006 Buick Lacrosse. The first set I got 54,500 miles on them and could have gone a bit longer but the winter weather was approaching. These tires do not last however on the low profile sizes. I also had put them on an Hyundai Elantra and didn't get 27,000 miles off either set I had purchased.

One of the best traveling tires around.

I use the tires as a daily driver tire, 100 mile round trip, 5 days a week for work. The tires perform Quiet on highway and definitely soak up the rough highways roads we experience in today's travels anymore. Use on several of my other vehicles, and highly recommend to friends and family.

Just as I had expected!

I'm NOT being paid to say this.... I've owned general tires in the past and got nothing but great results, so I decided to go with them again. I travel between Washington DC and Charlotte North Carolina weekly so they are put to the test. Handle great, really quiet and great in the rain!
