Great little icebox!!
I bought this to extend our freezer capacity. We didn’t need a lot of extra space, but 6.5 cu ft is plenty for us 2. It does the job quietly in my garage and doesn’t take up too much room. It is not self defrosting so some ice has built up. I tend to knock the ice off each time I go out so as to keep it less icy. If you don’t mind defrosting every 6 months or so, it’s no big deal. Great little icebox!!! What I LOVE about it the most is that it is upright. No bending down and rooting around in a deep freezer. Everything is at your fingertips.

Compact and Right for the space
I moved to an apartment and needed extra freezer storage that was compact and would hold my extra food. Works wonderfully. I left the plastic on the front due to me moving soon. I also purchased a rolling/locking mechanism in case it needs to move. I plan to straighten on the rolling mechanism once help arrives.

I really like my stand-up freezer. I chose the solver color because it matches my big refrigerator. It keeps the temperature very well. Perfect for extra freezer strorage. My only problem with this freezer is that the wheels are made of plastic and not rubber and there's no lock for the wheels, so the freezer tends to slides around a little bit when you try to open the door. Other then that it's looks and works perfectly. I would recommend this item to anyone.

Shelves are not adjustable
This smaller than what I had in my mind. But, it's a good buy for the sale price. My only complaint is that you cannot move the shelves. This is why I took 1 star away. So don't plan on freezing anything taller than a 12 lbs turkey. That's the largest thing that I could put in it because you cannot adjust the shelves.
Hi gene, we are glad to hear you are finding your Frigidaire Platinum Silver 6.5 Cu. ft. Upright Freezer useful. The cooling system evaporator coils are attached to the underside of the shelves for cooling efficiency rendering the shelves non adjustable. This is a standard design for a manual defrost upright freezer.

Great purchase!!
I’m so happy with my new freezer. It works great and fits perfectly in my small kitchen. I love that I don’t have to dig through a chest freezer to find what I need anymore. Now I can put the smaller items in the upright and larger items in the chest, and know exactly what I have. So many things go to waste because they were buried in the bottom of the freezer.

Hello patsy, we appreciate your feedback and would like to apologize for your recent experience with the Frigidaire Platinum Silver 6.5 Cu. ft. Upright Freezer. We pride ourselves on our high-quality standards and regret that our product did not live up to your expectations.
It sounds like the door is slightly out of adjustment. Here's a tutorial how to diagnose and resolve the issue:
How to Reduce & Resolve Frost Buildup in Upright Freezers, Refrigerator and Freezer Compartments of Refrigerators.
Frost occurs when moisture in ambient air touches the cold evaporator coils, metal shelves and interior sides of a freezer or refrigerator.
Steps you can take to reduce frost build up:
Move your hand around the outside of the freezer/refrigerator door. If you feel cold air, then the door is not sealing adequately.
You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge to reposition/adjust the freezer door to create a tight seal.
Adjust the front levelling feet of your unit such that the front of the unit is slightly higher than the rear. Labelling and organizing your foods so you can easily identify them will help shorten the number and duration of freezer trips.
Set the freezer temperature so the freezers interior compartment stays around 0F (-18C), as higher and lower temperature settings contribute to frost build up.
Door Seal Care:
Keep the door seal clean. You can clean your door seal with a solution of one tsp of baking soda to a quart of lukewarm water. Pour the solution onto a clean sponge, and wipe it over the seal. Up right for now on
Nice freezer. No more bending and digging and freezing my fingers off , no more em it the freezer just to find one thing, or to reach that last ice cream bar that drops out the box and somehow made its way to the bottom of the deep freezer! Only thing is it’s shorter than the refrigerator.

Not the size what it said in the ad
The reason I would not recommend this product is because they lied about the height It’s not even 5’7” and I really don’t know how good is going to work yet or if it will work I just got it today and I’m really disappointed in the height of it because in the ad it says 6.5 ft.³ I would not buy this product again

There is a tipping hazard when opening the door. The freezer will topple if opened with a strong pull because it takes a pull to open. The freezer accumulated alot of ice and frost immediately, it could be because it came delivered damaged with a dent or just faulty manufacturing. I did buy a warranty with it I'm trying to get a replacement or refund. At this time I've only had it plugged in for 10 days. I hope they honor the warranty.

perfect for small household
I think this is the perfect size for a small household, and it is upright so a little harder to bury things at the bottom that you just don't feel like digging for (been there done that) It lost a little bit, maybe not a whole star's worth but a 1/2 of of one for the door swapping procedure. There is nothing in the user manual about how to do it so it could be confusing for some, I used to deliver appliances so I knew what to do. The holes on the top that are to swap the screws from side to side are not good, rather the holes are fine but the plastic inserts to keep the unused holes pretty are bad, when I was delivering they were always just screws, this makes it easy to take out and move over. These things are very soft plastic that LOOK like screws but start tearing up as soon as you try to remove them. I ended up ripping the top off of 2 of the 3 and could not reuse them. Horrible design to save a couple of cents.
