[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product has design or manufacturing flaws that prevents me from using it as I wanted to. Specifically. I am unable to switch the door opening from right hinge to left hinge. This was a significant option in choosing to purchase this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have limited space in our 90's garage with 2 vehicles to park. A chest freezer wasn't a good fit so a small upright garage unit was desired. Walmart had a garage ready model by a reputable manufacturer for an excellent pricepoint. It was a no-brainer.

Doesn't fully freeze

the entire freezer never reached the correct temp. the top 3 rows werent able to be used because they never got cold enough to maintain frozen items. Add on top of that, one day it randomly started defrosting. this is the freezer i was storing my breast milk in so imagine the frustration. i caught it in time to salvage the milk but it's the principle. sadly this never performed as it should

Definitely recommend!!!

I live in a small mobile home and this is absolutely perfect for my needs. It allows me to cook in bulk and freeze future meals. I can purchase multiple items on sale. The only thing that would make it better is if the shelves were adjustable. Great buy for the money And runs beautifully.

Worth the price

I was a bit hesitant getting a freezer like this, especially for such an awesome price, but I trust the brand. I'm delighted to report it was worth the risk. It arrived with one tiny dent on the door. It was easily covered with a small magnet. As for working (most important), the instructions are easy to follow %26 I didn't have any trouble setting it up. The door closes tight, but is adjustable. There's plenty of room inside. I buy items in bulk when there's a sale, so it is perfect for me. An awesome freezer for the price!

Working well for months, not for storing tall item

We had a 6 cubic foot chest freezer that was over ten years old. It was a cheap one at the time from a discount club. This upright freezer is better as you can see all your items easily. The shelves are a bit flimsy and have the cooling coils attached to them. This was the first reason we went with the bins so they protect the cooling tubes. It has been on for a few months and is working well. It seals well and sucks the door closed. This means you need to wait a few seconds before reopening the door. The selves are not adjustable so tall items may not fit. We use clear hard plastic bins to organize our food. They also contain any leaks from liquid items our granddaughters put in. We also have power outages and the bins catch blood from meats.

The first thing I've noticed is a lot of condensation at the top when I open the door. I'm not sure if this means there's a poor seal or what exactly. I have been wiping it off each time I open it, so it doesn't add to the frost build up. As I begin to fill it with more things, I'll have a better idea of the quality and value of this freezer.

Hi JD it sounds like your freezer door may need minor adjustment. Here's a tutorial how to diagnose and resolve the issue:
How to Reduce & Resolve Frost Buildup in Upright Freezers, Refrigerator and Freezer Compartments of Refrigerators.
Frost occurs when moisture in ambient air touches the cold evaporator coils, metal shelves and interior sides of a freezer or refrigerator.
Steps you can take to reduce frost build up:
Move your hand around the outside of the freezer/refrigerator door. If you feel cold air, then the door is not sealing adequately.
You can adjust the door by loosening the top hinge to reposition/adjust the freezer door to create a tight seal.
Adjust the front levelling feet of your unit such that the front of the unit is slightly higher than the rear. Gravity will assist the door to close with a proper seal.
TIP: Close the door on a dollar bill (or similar). The dollar bill should not easily pull out - there should be some resistance. Perform the “Dollar Bill Test” on the top, sides, bottom of your freezer door, and adjust accordingly.
Do not over fill your freezer to prevent food items from shifting and preventing the freezer door from closing properly.
Place only cool or cold food items in your refrigerator or freezer. Hot foods introduce humidity into the food storage compartment, which contributes to frost build up. Allow hot foods to cool before placing them in the refrigerator or freezer.
Wrap foods tightly with plastic wrap. Butcher paper is not an adequate wrapping material. Glass container lids typically do not provide a proper seal.
Dry the exterior of food before storing. By the time you reach home after purchasing frozen foods, the food items may have defrosted a bit and moisture may have already developed on packaging.
Reduce the amount of time the door remains open. Labelling and organizing your foods so you can easily identify them will help shorten the number and duration of freezer trips.
Set the freezer temperature so the freezers interior compartment stays around 0F (-18C), as higher and lower temperature settings contribute to frost build up.
Door Seal Care:
Keep the door seal clean. You can clean your door seal with a solution of one tsp of baking soda to a quart of lukewarm water. Pour the solution onto a clean sponge, and wipe it over the seal. Sponge off the solution with clear water and dry the seal with a clean cloth before closing the freezer door.
Keep the door seal flexible by lubricating it with some petroleum jelly (e.g. Vaseline). Wipe it on and wipe it off with a clean dry cloth.

Looks great, with one visible problem.

Joseph, who delivered the freezer was excellent to work with, and as I am in my 80’s, helped me to install it; a real gentleman. When we set it up, however, we noticed a 3”x1/2” dent in the right side of the appliance. I don’t know if it will affect the operation of the freezer or not. What do you think?

The control knob was broken and is made of very cheap dollar store type plastic. The refrigerator mode does not work (the primary purpose of purchase). Cheezy door finish. Unit is very heavy compared to similar units. Too difficult to return, regrettful purchase.

I really like the stainless steel look on the front of the freezer. it's light weight, and it freezes very well, so I don't know what all of the negative reviews are about. The door is a little hard to open, but other than that, it's a very nice freezer for a small upright.
