Surprisingly good!

So I decided to test it out with much additives other than a crack of fresh black pepper and we didn’t get to grill some chicken because weather so I just cooked it on the stovetop and it was surprisingly really good but I could see it being better as a grilled chicken seasoning for sure. I’m a big fan of mesquite and this wasn’t overpowering or too weak.. just a nice hint of the mesquite and other seasons in there. Pretty good addition to the seasonings rack!

Great taste

I used the Bunkhouse Campfire seasoning on a pork chop. The combination of garlic, onion, chili peppers, and mesquite flavor was really tasty. It made the pork chop pop with flavor. Usually pork is bland but this seasoning made the pork chop special. I would recommend this seasoning.

My family's new favorite

This seasoning is delicious. It's got a hint of smoke, and this is a flavor that my family loves. Some ingredients appear to have been finely ground, while others are less so. I love seasonings that are more substantial when I use them in/on my food, and this one fits that bill. My daughter cooked with it last night and when I walked into the kitchen, I was reminded of that smoky smell that hits you when you walk into a good meat market - you know the one! I've started using this when I make grilled cheese sandwiches and that has been well-received. Another idea I have is to mix it in with sour cream and try it as a chip or vegetable dip. I suspect it will be delicious. If you like smoky flavors, I recommend you give this a try.

Tasty!

This seasoning is tasty and versatile! I tried it on grilled pork chops and they turned out great. It has a little bit of sweetness, a little bit of heat, and a little bit of smokiness to blend with the salt which adds up to some great flavor! I'm sure it would be great on chicken, beef, or even something like roasted potatoes.

Smoky and subtly sweet

This seasoning is GREAT on meat or chicken. The mesquite smoky taste has just the right amount of kick for any bbq or southwestern dish. It’s almost sweet like bbq sauce. Tried on eggs as well and it gives a very well balanced taste so you don’t need to reach for 5 different seasonings to achieve this one taste.

Pleasantly smokey but lacking.

Tonight I tried The Bunkhouse Campfire seasoning blend from Four Sixes. The description says to use it on poultry or pork. For this, I chose boneless skinless chicken breasts. With all new seasonings, I begin with a smell test. The Bunkhouse Campfire seasoning smells very smokey and sweet, kind of like barbecue sauce. The appearance is red and flaky with some larger pieces of seasoning. I liberally shook seasoning all over my chicken and rubbed it in. I put it in a skillet with some oil and seared it on both sides and then I cooked it for a few more minutes until it was done. Then I pulled it out and sliced it up before returning to the skillet for a quick toss. I tried the chicken on its own first and I was surprised that it didn't taste like barbecue sauce at all. It's just salty and smokey and it tastes like there should be a sweetness or maybe a bitterness as well but it was weirdly absent. I think this is an "ok" seasoning but I would definitely add things to it next time. In my opinion it needs lemon or lime juice and some kind of spice to add a kick that it's unfortunately missing. I ended up putting some of my chicken in a salad and it was pretty decent that way but I definitely missed the spice and some bitterness. I think this spice blend is a good starter but needs a little extra.

Delicious and Versatile Seasoning

This seasoning is the perfect blend for, literally, anything. I absolutely love it! Originally when I got it, I thought it was just for meat and the like. The campfire name threw me off. I'm vegan, so I assumed I wouldn't be able to use it for my food, but only for my family since they eat meat. Then, I tried it. It is the perfect blend of that smoky taste you want from the grill, but with a sweet taste on the end. Really, I love it. I put it on everything. It's especially tasty on my chickpeas. I eat them seasoned out of the can, and sometimes I'll pop the seasoned chickpeas in the air fryer. My kids love it on chicken and fish, and they're a constant in my vegetables now. It's really so versatile, and adds such a great flavor. It can be used on anything, absolutely anything. It's so delicious, and no camping is required.

Great Flavor

This seasoning blend is really good. The package recommends it be used with chicken but I tried it on a London broil and it was delicious. I think it would be great on pork as well. It has a nice, smoky flavor without being too overpowering. Looking forward to trying this with poultry and pork. I only knocked off a star because it does contain sugar, and my husband is a diabetic so we have to be careful with what we're using. However, the nutrition label says it's zero carbs and zero calories so that is a plus.

6666 Bunkhouse Campfire Seasoning

We used the seasoning on some ribs while camping. We typically do another just for ribs, but wanted to try this. It had a bold flavor with some kick to it. We didn't put a whole lot of the seasoning on the ribs just because it was our first try of the seasoning. It was good and will use again on next trip.

Great new seasoning

I used this seasoning on boneless chicken thighs and they turned out so good! My husband is not a huge lover of spice and he really liked it. It is not overly spicy and the mesquite flavor does not overpower the flavor of everything else. I am looking forward to trying it on pork chops and ribs next.
