This is a top rated crockpot with a built in meat thermometer that stops cooking when the meat reaches the pre-set temperature. My pork roast was juicy and tender after using this crockpot

would be nice if it was non stick but sadly it is not. it is not as straight forward to use as other h. b. crockpots. the Temperature Probe is a great addition. that being said it is a great slow cooker but a little on the pricey side.

It didn't overcook it and then went to warm when it was done. I also tried just the slow cooker feature and this also worked great. This is a nice addition to my appliances.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great slowcooker! I used a recipe for a sirloin tip roast, that said it would take 8 hours to cook a 4 - 5 lb roast. This was not the case! The roast, cooked using the temperature probe, was cooked in half that time! The roast was tender and juicy and vegetables cooked perfectly, just be sure to put the vegetables in at the start. The unit cleans up very easily. The lid has 3 holes to insert the probe, when cooking using internal temp. One note, when the probe is removed during cooking, you will have to restart the program. The lid on the unit maintains a great seal and uses two clamps, one at each end. the unit has a very modern design and the stainless steel outer covering fits in any decor! I believe this to be a great appliance for anyone looking to replace an existing slowcooker!

I would have given this item 5 starts but for one thing. The letters on the "CANCEL" button are almost completely gone. No, I did not wash it with a soap solution or any other solvent. Food does not normally get on the button area. At the most I may have wiped it with a damp cloth. Otherwise, the cooker works very well. I love the temperature control when using the probe. The ceramic pot itself has a rough ridge that runs along the bottom near the outside. You can't put it down on some counter tops, it will scratch. Even my quartz counter top.

This would be a five star review if not for the fact that the lettering is coming off of the "CANCEL" button. The ink is just dissolving into nothing. The unit has never been washed with anything other than a damp cloth. And that was rare as no food ever gets on the button area. All other functionality is great. Hamilton Beach, is there a fix for this??

A set-it-and-forget-it slow cooker that surpasses standard slow cookers and rivals more expensive ones. Read the accompanying manual for suggested temperatures and times for foods to avoid over- or under-cooking. PROs On upper-left front stainless steel exterior are the words, "Hot Surface" to alert user that exterior becomes quite hot during cooking, due to interior heating elements. 6-QT capacity holds large poultry (up to 6 LBs) or roast (up to 4 LBs). Tight-fitting lid has a slim rubber gasket that seals lid securely while cooking. Tiny vents on lid's top allow steam to escape, as food cooks. Three holes in lid to insert temp probe in meat for best location. Lid lock features two clamps to hold lid in place for easy transport. Do not use clamps while cooking, however. Easy carrying handle on lid. Heavy and sturdy, glazed black ceramic interior pot is easy to clean and is dishwasher-safe. May likely be a "con" for those whose walls are not equipped with electrical outlets along countertop. Digital display provides current internal temp and target temp when using manual probe. Digital display is easy to operate. Digital cook functions -- Low (slow simmer), Medium (warm enough for serving food hot), High (steady simmer) may be used with or without manual temperature probe. Three Temp modes (Temp, Keep Warm, and Hold Temp). Temp mode uses integrated manual temp probe to cook food at a selected temperature. Minimizes chances of overcooking and ensures food safety when cooking beef, pork or poultry. Automatically switches cooker to "keep warm" setting up to 24 hours once cooking temp is reached, but 8 hours is typical to avoid drying out food as well as food safety. Used Hold Temp function to make homemade yogurt, fondue, cultured buttermilk, and even to bulk-proof bread dough. Poached eggs and delicate sauces are also great on Hold Temp. Hold Temp doubles as a sous vide function, which is fantastic and manual provides guidelines on correct water temp/time for different foods. Love how it braises meats. This Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker received a one-star rating due to the fact that it only lasted one month, and 3 uses. The temperature only cooks on low. The sides are so flimsy that it feels like they will dent just by picking them up. You can actually feel it crackle. I do like how the cover locks in place.
