This is the third time I am trying EZ Seed on a remote shady area in our generally thick lush lawn. The previous 2 times throughout this growing season, I have had limited success in this sparse area and moderate success in small bare spots or last winter's snow mold spots in the Spring. Generally I have more confidence in Scott's Patchmaster products that I have used for over 10 years, and have yet to gain confidence in EZ Seed. With the consistent rain we have had the last 4 days and more predicted I am hoping EZ seed performs this time. I raked in Scott's Soil for seeding, starter fertilizer and so looking for sprigs any day now.

I have tried for two years to get grass to grow even putting black dirt in the holes. The fertilizer built into this product and the spring rains have quickly filled in my bare spots.

We completely wasted $80 by spending more money and going wtih the "big name" in yard care to make sure our grass looked nice. Followed the directions on the bag to the tee, watered everyday, had the area properly prepared, and the bare spots on the ground look the same today, as they did on April 19 when I seeded. An absolute complete waste, and I will never pay the premium for a Scotts product again. Scotts should put more money into the R&D of their product and not so much into their marketing. Now today I get to spend more time and money putting down top soil and traditional seed, which in hindsight I should of done from the beginning. Don't waste your time or money on this "magic" product, it doesn't workk as advertised.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use and the shaker feature spreads the product nicely. Germination rate was satisfactory. I have two dogs that target the same location all winter long, this is a great solution for spring seeding.

However I did find that the new grass had poor root quality and did not grow back in the next season. I started the process over with traditional seed and no additional top soil just raking in existing soil. Followed same watering instructions and grass looks great for 2 seasons so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts EZ Seed Patch and Repair Sun and Shade is the only product that gave us the results we needed to grow grass under all the trees around the perimeter of our property. The instructions were easy to follow and withing a few weeks all the bare spots were gone. I would recommend this Scott product to anyone who has bare spots due to shade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Use scotts EZ seed to repair thoes ugley bald spots in you lawn. Simpley loosen the soil and shake on EZ seed and water . Keep the repaired spots watered and in about 7 days thoes ugley spots will be turning green with new grass.

We had actually just sent in for a refund after using a very large amount of EZ Seed on one side of our lawn. For whatever reason, we did not have much luck. We followed all the directions, had a good amount of sun and average spring temperatures. It didn't really grow, and what did, was splotchy and scattered despite using a large amount. I'm happy to report that we bought some more, while awaiting a refund to put towards the new amount, and used it on another area of our lawn. After two weeks, we are seeing some growth coming in and it's doing well. I'm waiting to see if it makes it farther than the other seed, but so far I am seeing a difference. We think we might have actually just had a "bad batch" - definitely worth trying this brand. I did another area with Pennington, and did not have same results.

I tried to use this product to fill in where my garden used to be. After adding a truck full of top soil and tilling/leveling I put down two bags of EZ seed which according to the bag was plenty. I watered every morning until dark brown as stated in the instructions and after 14 days nothing. I’ve been a landscaper for several years and normally only use Lesco products, I figured I would give this a shot since it was my home and I wanted it to grow quickly. What a mistake, now I have to do it all over again.

Planted following directions two weeks ago. Have been watering faithfully. NOTHING!!!
