Amazing results!

I have the best lawn in my cul-de-sac. My neighbors asked me why! I told them it was because I used this product. As long as you water it regularly along with lots of sun, you will have green thick pretty grass in no time. I used it near my deck when I had a ramp pulled up and it was just dirt. I put the easy seed down and it filled in with pretty grass. I had tried Pennington and it did NOTHING for my lawn.

Works great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! Very impressive grass growth! I had a few areas where my dog dug in the yard and needed to get the areas fixed. Brought in a couple scoops of Scott's soil and got the area prepped. Followed the directions on the container and sat back knowing I can count on Scott's products to work. Grass came in thick and lush. Can't tell I have a dog that likes to dig anymore.

Fills in spots quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this product on an area where the grass had been ripped out by some equipment and needed to be filled in. The product is easy to spread and the grass came up quickly. I can't tell where the spot was now.

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ezseed makes planting grass seed a breeze! After the prep work is done in the area, I got the container out, sprinkled on the seed and watered lightly. The grass started to grow nicely and now looks great. Would recommend this product to anyone who wants their lawn to look good.

Easy seed and fertilizer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used the EZ seed this past weekend and really like how it has the brown mulch with the seed so you can see exactly where the product is going and that you cover the entire area needing to be patched! Great product!

Easy Way to Fix Bare Spots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lawn really suffered from the past winter, and I had many bare spots in my lawn. I chose Scott's EZ Patch and Repair Sun and Shade because my lawn is mostly shaded and it is hard to grow grass. I saw that this product includes seed and a medium to help keep it moist and to prevent it from blowing away. I was careful to follow the directions to the letter. I loosened the dirt first and was careful not to apply too much product to one area. I was diligent about watering every day, sometimes twice a day for the first two weeks. 7 days after applying to all of the bare spots I saw no change but on day 10 little green grass sprouts began poking through the brown mixture containing the seeds. After 19 days, I would estimate that of all the bare spots where I applied this product, about 75% have sprouts now. I'm especially pleased that no weeds are sprouting too! I hope to see more new grass in the coming days.

Complete Disappointment

I am very disappointed in this product. I followed all the instructions and watered daily for weeks and still have nothing. Not a single green sprout. I gave up and just bought squares of grass today. This product isn't cheap and was a total waste of my money. I definitely do NOT recommend this product.

We are sorry that you have experienced problems while using Scotts EZ Seed Sun & Shade. Generally, we recommend seeding in late spring when temperatures are warm not only during the day, but at night also. Temperature plays a critical role in seedling germination. Soil temperatures for northern (cool season) type turfgrass seed (Kentucky bluegrass, ryegrass, and fescue) must be at least 55 degrees F for seed to germinate. For best results, daytime temperatures must typically be in the 60-80 degree F. range and not going below 50 degrees F at night. Seeds will not germinate if the temperatures are cold at night, or are fluctuating from high day temperature to very low night time temperatures. The best time to seed cool season grasses is early to mid-fall. One major "enemy" of a newly seeded lawn is herbicide. Make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used in the area, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. Nothing but Weeds! Literally!!!

I never write reviews and this was warranted: I bought over 100$ worth of product to seed a 20' by 20' area and with in 3 weeks my yard was 100% covered from edge to edge in nothing but weeds. I'd say less than 1% was actually grass seed. I tried watering what my previous yard was for a month or two and sure I had a few weeds here and there but I would pick them by hand on the weekends and nothing really grew in so I decided to reseed. Once I put the seed down everything grew just fine but it was ALL WEEDS. My neighbor bought the same bags from the same store and he had the exact same results. It's clear that it came from the see because of how patchy it is and there are no weeds where I didn't lay down seed. At a loss for how terrible this product is.

We apologize that you have been disappointed by the appearance of weeds in your newly seeded areas. Our seeds are guaranteed to be 99.9% weed free. Weed seeds are exposed when the soil is turned and will germinate right along with the new seed. Weed seeds may also be introduced to the area through the addition of topsoil or straw. Did not grow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried this product and nothing has grown. I did follow the directions and I have no results as of yet. I have planted seed in the past and have never had any problems. It was easy to use and I did notice the seed in the mixture but nothing has come up.

Great Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I get great results without having to constantly keep watering. Once a day is fine and it does well even if you forget a couple of days. Make sure you loosen the soil at least two inches. Its very important to keep watering after the grass fills in!!!!! The highest quality seeds germinate last so keep lightly watering the area until you mow a few times.
