All in one!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product in bare spots in lawn in the spring. The product had mulch, fertilizer and seed all in one very easy to use. I did not water but we did have rain at least once a week and it still grew! Great product!!

Surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an area in my yard that gets very little sun and has always been a problem getting seed to grow there so I was not all expecting this seed to. But to my surprise after about 2 weeks, I started to see some of the seed starting to take root and soon after ward, more of started to come i with each passing day. Needless to say, I am very happy with this and plan to buy more for other places where I need to fill in patches. Thanks guys

Fast Growth

I have had good results with Scotts EZ Seed. Grass will grow just about anywhere within a week or two. However, I've found that just by itself that it can be a quick growth that doesn't live long. For best results, I've used EZ Seed along w/ a cheaper bulk (50lb bag) seed and find that I get quick growth from the EZ seed and the durability from the regular seed.

Too early to tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just spread EZ Seed and PatchMaster on several bare spots around some trees and along the edge of my driveway. The EZ Seed was much easier to use. The PatchMaster is basically a block of shredded paper that you have to break up and spread. The EZ Seed is easy to simply shake from the bottle. I broke up the soil and added some topsoil to all of the areas where I spread the seed. I watered it well and have sprinklers set up to water all of the spots regularly. I will provide an update in a few weeks when I (hopefully) see some results.

Ease of use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well as most of us know the weather has been a contributing factor for everything being a bit off kilter so with that being said I just killed off my weeds a couple weeks ago so plan on trying this seed real soo. I do hope that this site will let me download my pics by then. Never had this problem before guess we will see.

Grass seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A convenient and easy way to repair lawns. A great combination seed mix in a easy carry container without the hassle of how to seal up the package when you don't need all of the product. The easy flip open lid allows one to spread out the seed you need without having to get out a separate spreader.

The product did not work as advertised.

I used this product to reseed thin shaded areas and several bare areas in my lawn. I hand spread the product and was careful to have some dirt showing as instructed and kept it moist. Grass grew well in planting areas where the mulch that is included in the product happened to be amply applied. Seeds did not germinate elsewhere. I believe that there is not enough mulch in the product and the mulch is not evenly distributed in the bag. I used a 40 lb bag.

We are sorry for the disappointment you have experienced with the results of your recent seeding effort. It's certainly strange that the seed only germinated in the areas where the mulch was heavier. We do our best to keep the product mixed properly, but sometimes the contents shift during storage and shipping. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience, please contact us to see what can be done. Didn't perform as expected.

We purchased this product at Lowes to fill in bare area after having some trees removed. We followed directions but not have any grass grow to speak of. We used Scotts lawn soil and fertilizer. We had at least 4 inches of soil and used Turf Builder starter per the directions. (The label says that type can be used when planting new grass) Scotts products are usually pretty dependable but this time EZ Seed fizzled...

We apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced when using the product. This particular product usually has a lot of success stories from users, but it is helpful when we get reviews like yours to help us produce quality product. For Cool Season grasses like Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and different types of Fescues soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate and can take between 4 -21 days to see germination. Warm season grasses like Bermudagrass, Centipede and Zoysia, which germinates in early summer, requires soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees (24 - 32 Celsius) and can take between 5-28 days to see visible germination. Watering also plays a defining factor in germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day until germination is visible and then watering 1- 1 ½” per week as needed. Both excessive watering and not enough watering can slow down or even stop germination of the product. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us at http://tinyurl.com/mds8zo5 and one of our representatives would be glad to assist you. We hope this issue has not caused you to lose faith in our product, as we use reviews like yours to maintain and improve the quality product that you and other consumers have come to know and love.

Works very well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Already planted some of both after trip back from New England . Growing well and looks good. Had natural rainfall to keep seed wet and temp will top off today around mid 70 ! Planted two ways and both doing great ! Scratched lose the soil ,planted, then covered ever so lightly with seasoned three year old mulch. #2 Didn’t do any prep AT ALL ,planted seed on bare earth, added some mulch ( good stuff ) and Voila ,Green grass. Still have some samples of both and will go at it again when the days get longer . Regards, Kelly
