Purchased this product to fill in several bare spots on our lawn. Mostly semi- shaded areas. Found the seed to germinate fast- around 5-7 days. Also the included mulch helped keep the seeded area moist. Keep watering daily or as necessary during germination period. Overall an excellent product. Buy again- YES!

I decided to give the grass seed a try. Although it took a little longer for the seed to sprout, due to cool nights, the grass did begin growing and all bare spots have completely filled in. I can't wait until spring to see how nice my lawn looks now that it is filled in. The ease-of-use and the water retention factor of this product really makes it simple to use, with great results. Thanks Scotts for your wonderful products!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The product is simple to use. Just loosen the soil or purple a few inches of new soil over the spot to be repaired. Water twice a day or as needed. See color if light it need moisture. Dark is is good. Read the easy directions on the container. I like the results and the seeds will adjust for sun or shade from seed mixture. III use this annually every spring and during summer for repairs. I use 100 per-cent Scott's seed. It meets my expectations.

This is my second review of this product. The first review was the selection of EZ Seed and the application. This review is a two week check-in. The weather has been a mix of 40's at night and 70's during the day on most days, some gorgeous weather and some drizzle. Yesterday was our first thunderstorm of the year. We water the EZ Seed patch in the morning and at night except on rainy days. The grass has sprouted and is about 1-2" in spots. Still looks sparse only because it hasn't filled in everywhere yet. We still have about half the container left to spread in spaces that the grass seed did not take, but right now doesn't look like we need it. More to follow....

In no time at all the grass comes up and the lawn looks beautiful. I would recommend Scott’s patch and repair to everyone with this problem.

It grew well in a shady area that I have had very little success--even with other Scotts products in the past. I am not a big fan of attempting to grow grass in the late Spring but there was a bare spot under a tree that I did not want to have increase in size due to run-off. I planted the seed and it sprouted well in 6 days. I have now mowed twice and it seems to be holding up well.

We flip houses, and I always use Scotts products to revive the lawns quickly (and have no complaints), but I had never used the EZ seed. I created two test spots for this product before I applied it all over; one spot in my front yard (in a sunny location), and one in the back (in a shady location). I raked all loose grass or leftover/dead leaves from fall, sprinkled a very small amount of soil, about 1 cup in each 1 sqft. area, applied the grass seed, and watered. We did get rain the day after I seeded, and I then watered daily for 3 days. On day 5, I had grass!! And today, which is day 10, my entire patches are covered in grass shoots. I imagine in a few more days, my bare test spots will be completely covered in grass!!

Just applied 10/10/2016...However, this product sings quality and simplicity! The ease of preparing and then seeding are exceptional! I recommend this to ALL!

After buying numerous bags of seed, I finally splurged on this stuff and I’m glad I did! We had a shed installed in our backyard and the delivery truck killed our lawn. I sprinkled this stuff on, and grass grew within a week! I love the brown color feature of the seed, it’s dummy proof for people like me who tend to water too much or too little. When I saw the seed turn light brown, I gave it a good soak and went about my business. Easy! Only negative is I wish more clover was included in the mix, a sustainable lawn is important to me. Can’t recommend this stuff enough!
