We have seeded our lawn 4 times successfully in the last few years, repaired damage, patched bare spots and even fully re-seeded our entire lawn after rototilling it. I would say we are on an expert level by now. We decided to try this seed for damage spots due to kids. We paid almost 50 dollars for a large bag at our local Lowes, did everything right, according to instructions and scotts.com advice. After 4 wks of patiently waiting, keeping our kids out of the back yard, watching moisture level and just babying it we have nothing to show for. We spent hours raking, pulling weeds to prepare for this seed and still nothing. We have had better results using very cheap generic grass seed than this stuff. i really am disappointed i threw away the bag and receipt or i would be demanding a refund

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my Go To Seed. I have ripped up parts of my lawn changing landscapes and a broken waterline. I always come back to Scotts EZ Seed because there is so little to do. Pour it on and water it. That's my kind of finish work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a heavily sloped back yard with more moss than grass due to also being heavily wooded. I wanted to get more grass on the sloped areas to help with traction (moss can be very slippery). It grew in patches. I am not sure if it was the products quality, as I have always had good luck with Scott's products, or our extreme conditions. I am leaning towards our extreme conditions.

This Spring I got it out on the lawn in late March and it has started growing and becoming pretty thick in a hurry. The product is easy to spread and when watered, it does thicken and absorb the water to allow for excellent germination. Highly recommend it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lawn really suffered from the past winter, and I had many bare spots in my lawn. I chose Scott's EZ Patch and Repair Sun and Shade because my lawn is mostly shaded and it is hard to grow grass. I saw that this product includes seed and a medium to help keep it moist and to prevent it from blowing away. I was careful to follow the directions to the letter. I loosened the dirt first and was careful not to apply too much product to one area. I was diligent about watering every day, sometimes twice a day for the first two weeks. 7 days after applying to all of the bare spots I saw no change but on day 10 little green grass sprouts began poking through the brown mixture containing the seeds. After 19 days, I would estimate that of all the bare spots where I applied this product, about 75% have sprouts now. I'm especially pleased that no weeds are sprouting too! I hope to see more new grass in the coming days.

I bought this a few months ago. I used it on a 6 x 10 ft area. After about 2 weeks it started to grow. Then after about 5 weeks the entire area was a full lush green lawn. Now here I am about 13 weeks later and it's all starting to die. I water my lawn pretty regularly. The rest of my lawn looks great. But this one 6 x 10 ft patch that I used this product on is all dying away and there is nothing I can do to prevent it. What a waste of money. And the seeds are not cheap.

This was the 2nd year in a row I tried this product. I found it on sale at 1/2 off so I bought it again. It grew in one spot which was in a shaded area and did not grow in a sunny area. I will go back to using add'l seed along with the patchmaster (green) product.

I had to re-seed with this product several times before the grass began to grow. With all of the seed that was sowed the grass should be very thick but it is spotty. I believe in Scotts seed so I will try a different Scotts seed when I re-seed next month.
