My front yard receives considerable shade. At the end of last summer the lawn developed many bare spots. I thought it was a hopeless situation. I purchased Scotts EZ seed this spring and began filling in the bare patches. After 8 days the seed was sprouting. I now have a gorgeous looking lawn. This product is so EZ to use with the mulch and fertilizer mixed with the seeds. I love, love, love this product. Thank you Scotts!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used EZ Seed multiple times during the spring -summer of 2014, and constantly felt the need to re seed, as the applications didn't trully all take effect. I thought for certain the grass would come back after the winter, but to my disappointment....the areas I used the EZ Seed are absolutely dead. The grass never made it through the winter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Scotts® EZ Seed® Patch & Repair Tall Fescue Lawns a few weeks ago and the seed went down easy and came out looking great. Overall this is a awesome product if you have some spots you need to repair.

I bought a 40lb bag in May after tilling up about 900 sq feet and adding 3 yards on top soil in my backyard ruined by tree company hired to remove a tree. I also bought a small bag of their regular seed because the area i wanted to re seed was a small L and i though if the 40lb did not cover enough i would do L part with reg. seed. I started to apply as instructed, only to get about 500-550sq feet covered, and i didn't want to mix seed in middle, so i bought another 40lb bag. It took a little longer for seeds to grow then seeds i used in past. It started to come in good the only problem was that after 5 weeks grass was just about ready to be cut for first time. By week 7 i cut it once and now had crab grass starting to grow. And i had to wait at least 3-4 cuts before i was able to apply any control products. Before 3rd cut lawn was now covered in crab grass, I bought their weed and crab grass killer in spray bottle, After 4th cut i tried it on a few test spots and found that it killed the grass around the crab grass i sprayed. Ez seed grass turned yellow then was gone, so after 3 months i am left with nothing but a crab grass lawn. A week after i planted the ez seed i used another cheap brand on another spot in my yard, and had great results. I would never use ez seed again except to maybe do small bald spot, i think is best for that.

Interesting reviews. This may be part of the issue? I do not see any discussion on pre emergent fertilization use with new grass seed?? Scott’s seems to be missing this issue in their comment and disclosure for proper use? Maybe I missed it, but I have always been told once you put a Crabgrass pre emergent on your lawn your ability to grow grass stops. You have to wait till fall. Scott’s, please address and insure this situation is in your instructions, if a true statement for all your customers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] IF you have mistakes in your lawn, wear spots, dog spots, dead areas for whatever reason - this is your solution! this seed product EZSEED will grow ANYWHERE as long as you keep it watered!! This is amazing - it fixed the edge of my patio in a matter of a few days. The only thing I have done wrong in the past is set it down too think! otherwise, great fix for small areas!

Within a week it sprouted and by 3 weeks you couldn’t tell the bare spot from the rest of the lawn. Very easy to apply. Blended in so that you couldn’t see where it was applied. Highly recommended!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this on a patched area where a new sewer line was installed as it was later in spring and the area was run over after seeding by sewer contractor i only have mixed results more likely the problem then the Scott's seed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to use and the shaker feature spreads the product nicely. Germination rate was satisfactory. I have two dogs that target the same location all winter long, this is a great solution for spring seeding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought this product was magic. It grew and filled in the spots in the lawn within a week. Two issues with the grass moving forward. The grass didnt match up at all texture wise or color wise. None of the grass survived the winter either and all my bare spots were back come spring.
