I've grown our lawn from this biannually for the past 3-4 years. I put down burlap during germination and it sprouts. If I don't, it doesn't. I can get it going for a few weeks. I put up barriers to keep people off, keep it moist until it's established, etc. It grows lush and thick under our tree, but it never lasts more than a season and it's a dust bowl again. In the sun, it sprouts in the spring and grows til about June when it withers and dies and it turns into a dustbowl again. The first time someone steps on it, it dies (Even after it is 4-5 inches long. I've literally seen footprint shaped spots where it's died from stepping on it once.) In the fall, when it's cool enough to plant again, I get it to sprout, but it dies as soon as the frost and snows hit and never fully establishes itself. If I overseed hoping it will sprout in the spring, nothing happens. It's a lot of effort to put in multiple times a year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Applied this product less than 2-weeks ago in northeast and already seeing grass sprouting. Used it to fill bare spots left from lsst year and the winter. Couldn't be any more convenient. Loosened the soil with a metal rake and added some top soil mix to the areas needing grass. Next, opened the cap to the ez seed bottle and walked the area shaken the bottle to apply the mix. Pretty simple. Watered in lightly when finished applying seed and with the weather we've been having, grass is appearing.

Very simple to use, but you must be sure to keep the area moist as indicated by the color of the mulch. Also, I find better results when applied in late summer/early fall. The cool nights seem to hepl the growing process. All in all , well worth buying !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I forgot to review this last year, but a great product for dog or squirrel spots ! It came up quick, kept it watered, and even though I missed watering several times, It holds the water in the mulch that's in it !

I live in Pennsylvania, I applied this product in the middle of May when the temperatures were between 70 and 80 degrees. I followed the directions in regards to the amount to put down, and kept it moist, which meant I put a little bit of water down in the morning and again in the evening unless it rained. it is now about 10 days later and I have grass coming up. the product works well!

Also, once watered the mulch allows the seed to stay moist enough for germination. This item is great for patching, not for a large area. When used the seed came in quickly and filled in the area nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even though it says Sun and Shade it has only been partially effective in the sunny areas. We do live in the desert area and the sun is quite strong - so it might be more difficult here. We used it and MOST of it took - there are still some patches where it seems we will never be able to cover..... The product worked well for the majority of the places....

I have very little sun in my backyard due to a very large walnut tree. There is a spot in my backyard without any grass at all. Neighbors told me there was no way I would ever get grass to grow. I saw the EZ seed and figured it would work. Within about 2-3 weeks I started to see grass start to sprout. It took a little longer than the bag says, but I also didn't follow the watering the way I was advised. Other than that the product worked amazing and I am very happy with the results. Can't wait til next summer :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this in mid-October, and had occasion to seed a few small areas on new soil that was seeded and growing except for a few spots I missed. We had an unusually nice Fall in the Midwest with temps in the 60s during the day and 40s overnight, so I planted the missed areas. I am pleased with the results as the grass is growing! This was on a hillside area with a lot of rain this Fall, so very pleased it remained where it was placed and did so well.
