[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i used the EZ Seed for several bare spots in both my front and backyard. Some of the areas were in direct sun while a few were mostly shaded. I had tried last year to use seed and my results were not very successful. EZ Seed has worked beyond my expectations! I now have grass growing everywhere I used this product. Very easy to use. I just loosened the soil, sprinkled the EZ Seed mixture, and consistently watered the areas for about a week or so. It took very little time and effort ( which I loved), and soon I saw excellent results. Great product for those troubled lawn areas.

The seeds are encapsulated therefore the birds do not eat them and the seeds retain moisture. I have even skipped a day of watering and the seeds still spout. It is very convenient because you simply spread and water.

I prepared the area to be reseeded as per instructions. After 2 weeks there was only a 20% germination at most. I again prepared the area even using Scotts top soil. After 17 days there was zero germination. The area was prepared correctly and watered as it needed. In the fall I will go to plan B.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to apply container and hold. For best results follow the easy instructions on the back. Grass comes up in the usual time for new grass. Keep watered and you will be rewarded with beautiful green grass.

If you have nice green manicured grass, don't use this product to fill in bare spots. The blades of grass are wide and light green, it looks like weeds. This might be good for erosion control or somewhere you don't care what it looks like. I used it in front of my house around a tree. It did grow, but it is ugly grass. I'll be spraying that whole area with Roundup towards the end of the summer and starting over with better seed in the fall.

Easy to apply and is coming in very thick. I will see in a few more weeks additional progress as well I suspect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product to fill in bare spots along my driveway and at the edges of my flower beds. It flowed out of the bag quite easily. I made sure I watered every day. After about 7-8 days the seeds sprouted. I still kept watering every other day or so for the next few weeks. It filled in quite nicely. I definitely recommend this easy to use product for repairing bare spots.

It grew well in a shady area that I have had very little success--even with other Scotts products in the past. I am not a big fan of attempting to grow grass in the late Spring but there was a bare spot under a tree that I did not want to have increase in size due to run-off. I planted the seed and it sprouted well in 6 days. I have now mowed twice and it seems to be holding up well.

Used it to fill bare spots left from lsst year and the winter. Couldn't be any more convenient. Loosened the soil with a metal rake and added some top soil mix to the areas needing grass. Next, opened the cap to the ez seed bottle and walked the area shaken the bottle to apply the mix. Pretty simple. Watered in lightly when finished applying seed and with the weather we've been having, grass is appearing.
