Delicious Oranges

We were surprised by the red color of the fruit, thought we had made a mistake and bought grapefruit by mistake! Oranges were sweet and tender, so glad we tried them!

Excellent Quality

The Cara Cara oranges are one of my absolute favorites in the orange family. Sam's Club has consistently delivered the best of the best in Cara Cara. I'm sad that they are seasonal.

Amazingly delicious at a fantastic price.

Delicious and super fresh. The sweetest oranges we've ever tasted. We returned and repurchased 3 times because when we shared them our friends also fell in love with them!

Not your ordinary orange

Cara Cara Oranges are naturally sweet, low in acidity, and easy to peel. With vibrant pinkish-red flesh and great flavor, they’re perfect for snacking, juicing, or adding to recipes. The 8‑pound bag provides plenty for the week or to share with family.

Not up to Sam's normal quality

I have ordered these, before, for delivery and been quite happy with the quality. But these I picked up from the club. While they looked fine and even smelled good, that was not the case when we tried to eat them. The first (two, my wife and I each tried one) turned out to be "old" and beginning to dry out. When I cut open another, was just as the first. I would have returned the remaining bag to Sam's but the club is not convenient during my routine travels. Since this is my first disappointment with this specific product (I ran into a similar issue with some berries, a year ago, but further purchases have been fine), I will likely try it again. While I overwhelmingly recommend shopping at Sam's for groceries (including perishables), it is good to be cautious in checking for freshness...

Examine carefully.

Examine oranges carefully. They are difficult to examine with the mesh packaging. When I opened the bag once I got home two of the oranges were rotten and molded. I didn't return them since we live an hour away. Next time I will check much more closely.

Select carefully

Be careful when choosing these. Some are very thick-skins with relatively little edible fruit. Others may be dried out. Try to select fruit that "feels heavier", i.e., juicier.

Could have been better.

I've bought Cara Cara oranges in the past. I refrigerated these when I returned home. Even so, 4 of the oranges were over ripe and couldn't be eaten. The flavor of the rest was average at best.

Don’t waste your money

Started buying Cara Cara several years ago and they were the best oranges I ever tasted. The last 6 months they have been very disappointing. There’s hardly any taste and they are dry. I don’t know what has changed about the way they are grown but I’m sure I will NOT be buying them again.

Mold quickly

Molds quickly. I had the oranges for 3 days before they started to mold. The rinds were thin, so I’m not sure how long the oranges were sitting before I bought them. This was maybe the 3rd time when they are available at Sam’s Club that I’ve bought them and they mold in the first few days. I’ve bought smaller bags from Walmart and other orange varieties from other grocery stores that do not have the same problem.
