[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been the type of person to think generic vs. brand makes no real difference, and that different brands are basically the same thing with just different packaging and slightly different flavor options. But this has changed my thinking a bit. Appearance-wise, and based on what I read, this is basically a nautical version of Lucky Charms. But it's only in appearance that it resembles LC. My son described the flavor as being "like cardboard." I'm not sure that I would put it quite that way, but it definitely doesn't have a lot of flavor. It also leaves a rather odd aftertaste. The marshmallows are quite similar to LC's marshmallows, in that they're not soft and a bit crunchy. They don't have the same sweetness, though. Looking at the nutritional info, it doesn't even appear to be any healthier than other cereal options. I could possibly overlook the taste, or even think that it's simply that my palate needs to adjust to a cereal with less sugar, but it really seems to be on par with other cereals in terms of nutrition. Overall, we were unfortunately not impressed with this cereal. It would not be one we'd choose to swap with something we currently eat.

What a waste of money! My kids poured themselves a bowl of cereal and there was maybe 5 marshmallows in the entire bowl of each of their cereals! I don't expect a bag full of marshmallows but we all know those are what kids look forward to. What a waste of money - won't purchase again!

These are not as sickly sweet as the name brand counterpart, which also costs much more. I had quit eating the name brand years ago, but my GF still did; she got these and bragged on how much better they were… I tried a few bites and get to enjoy them again!

And the regular pieces are slightly frosted so they don't have a bland taste like other brands that make this type of cereal! I love this kind of cereal and this brand has made it right. I will definitely buy again. And my 1, 2 AND 3 year old has approved it too!!!

Comparable to the texture and flavor of name brand options, this cereal is a hit with children, even the children hiding inside us adults! I sat down and had a bowl of this with my son. It's tasty, crunchy, and doesn't get soggy too quickly. Our favorite part? The colored marshmallows! I was surprised to see It also contains 21+grams of whole grain per serving! The packaging is something to work around if you have children that are at the age to get their own cereal and fail to snap the resealable bags closed. We just poured ours into a plastic airtight cereal container to keep it from getting stale! Problem solved! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Both of my kids are super picky eaters and neither kid would eat this cereal. The cereal pieces were much sweeter then the cereal they are used to and they didn't like it. Obviously like most kids would do.. They picked out the marshmallows and ate those. However I wouldn't but a cereal just for the marshmallows.

I'm actually very surprised at the reviews stating that there are no marshmallows. I've been buying this for a few years now, and there are always a lot more marshmallows than Lucky Charms. I actually pick out some and put them in my leftover milk, sort of like breakfast dessert. There are still always plenty of marshmallows in the cereal that I eat normally. I would like to think that all of your complaints about lack of marshmallows made them fix the problem.
