This cake is beautiful to look at, but the taste is lacking. The frosting in the center of the cake is very very bland. The cake itself is very good, but the frosting in the center ruins it. Just a little sweeting or flavor would make a huge difference. I cannot recommend this. We love Sam's cakes and the family was excited to try this, but it fell short. I gave it 3 stars mostly because of the presentation.

I bought two of these, Yule logs for a Christmas party one at Sam’s one from another place that was double the price Sam’s was hands-down the best around the taste was fantastic. It was super fresh. It looks beautiful and it was literally double the size of the other stores for half the price worth every dime.

I had high expectations for this given the good reviews, but I was a bit disappointed in the taste. It is beautifully decorated, but the filling is pretty sweet because it is buttercream (I don't like buttercream), and the cake part was dry. I won't be purchasing this again in the future.

The description here and the label on the cake itself say that it has chocolate and vanilla buttercream. It says on the label that it's filled with buttercream. As the title says, that is a straight up lie. The inside is whipped cream, which I loathe. The cake is good, the exterior frosting is good, but the inside is gross. I would not have purchased this had I known.

Cake tasted like a Ding Dong, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I liked it. Didn't want to spend $50-$60 dollars on a Yule Log Cake so imo this was an acceptable (and less expensive) alternative. Also got the apple pie and the consensus of the family was that the pie was better than the cake.

I really enjoyed this, the whole family did. Will buy again.
