Idahoan Hashbrowns

These hash browns are the best. Taste just like fresh made. Keep must longer than the frozen kind.

Good when available in-store

Good product. Too bad Sam's does not stock these anymore in store at least not where I live. Checked all the Sam's, none could be found.

Awful!!!

These have no flavor, and no matter how long I soaked these, they never seemed to get soft enough. The water kept getting extremely starchy as well. Sam's club carries a different brand of these that are FAR SUPERIOR. Try those.

Too Sweet

These potatoes have a sweet taste that I don't like. I much prefer the other brand that I have to order because they stopped stocking it in the store.

This is What Waffle House uses!!

These are the same hash browns that Waffle House use. These are fantastic. You store them dry, rehydrate them with hot water and through on your griddle or frying pan.

Potatoes, Sunflower Oil, Salt, DEXTROSE, Onion P..

When I opened the box there was a rancid oil smell that filled the room. I read the expiration date and it was good 2 months left. I next read the label and found the second ingredient was Sunflower oil; not an oil i like to consume. When I added the boiling water, the rancid smell was replaced with the smell of rehydrating onion. The texture of these shreds are finely shredded which makes for a mushy potato cake or fresh latka texture which i like during holidays. I will not purchase these agian because my needs are shredded dehydrated potatoes for recipies and hash browns, these are hasbrowns alread seasoned to someone elses tastes. Also the label nutrition shows zero fats and the second ingredient is Sunflower Oil, I am not a chemist so I can't tell which other ingredient transforms the oil out of being a fat. Rancid smelling potatoes are not appetizing to my family. I have a second box that expires next July, I hope these are not rancid.

Surprisingly Awesome

Delicious, simple preparation, excellent long term storage. Accidentally found a much simplifier and faster prep. Add 2/3rds cup water to fry pan, set heat to medium and add 1 cup dried taters. Stir and flatten out the shreds, and you will have a perfect 10 inch skillet full. Takes about 5 or 6 minutes, but I Iike to flip them after about 5 minutes, turn the heat to high, and cook for another minute or two. When flipped they stay formed together for a nice presentation.
