great dual purpose generator

As of writing I have 50 hours on the unit. I purchased this for dual use. 1) camper power-easily powers 30amp camper-will run for 13-14 hours on single tank of gas with single 13k btu AC unit 2) home backup, will run 240v 30amp well pump and the rest of home (minus 4 ton ac unit). Overall this thing is tough to beat for the price. It has run well, it's reasonably quiet, remove start it nice, and at 100lbs with wheels and telescoping handle is relatively maneuverable. I have yet to try the propane functionality but it did include the regulator and I have no reason to expect it wouldn't work as intended.

Great generator with TONS of features for the $$$

I have a pair of these Genmax GM7500aIED's for our house backup and love them. They are a huge value for the money at their $899 price and especially at the Black Friday 2024 price of $799 I got them for last year. I have a 50 amp connection to our house using a Reliance 50a power inlet, interlock kit, and 50 amp breaker for proper setup. I can run our entire 3,000 sq/ft house off of a single generator easily running 2 full size fridges, a kitchen island drink fridge, use all the LED lights in the house, run 3 LCD TV's, sons PS5, my network rack for internet and 4 AP's, open either garage door, run the 120v 1/2hp septic pump, and balance in an air fryer OR microwave OR coffee maker (not all at once). With a single, I cannot run our 5 ton 2 stage heat pump AC unit, electric water heater, or electric clothes dryer, but, when both are in parallel, I can balance any of those last 3 in. I also have these where I can tie them in via quick connects to our 250 gallon propane tank and they hook directly in since they each need about 11" water column and the pressure regulator is built into the gens. A single generator on propane is 6,000 starting watts and 5,500 running watts so in parallel you have 12kw starting and 11kw running. With my AirGo soft start on the outside unit, it dropped the 153 amp LRA down to 38 amps so the AC can be run ONLY when they are in parallel. OR, I could run the electric clothes dryer which bounces the wattage from 1.5kw up to about 5kw when it's on. OR, I can run the electric water heater with its dual 4,500 watt elements that run one at a time (like most do). You just have to use common sense when trying to run various loads during an outage. I also have my breaker panel set with color coded dots so my family knows what can and cannot be run and made a Word document just in case.

30 and 50 amp plugs! AWESOME!

I haven't started this generator up yet, but the fact that it has a 50 and 30 amp plugs are the features that i like best. I bought this for my RV and couldn't be happier. The fact that it's dual fuel with electric start is an added function that i like as well.

Absolutely love this generator. Did the break in procedure or running 25-50% load for 5 hours then replaced the oil with Mobil 1 full synthetic. Took it to run my camper at a festival and it ran for dang near 4 days straight. Never had a a hiccup and was easy on the fuel cans. Just shy of 30 gallons in the 88 hours it ran. It ran 1 AC all my lights, tv, and microwave and never got above 50%

Great genny

Super quiet, runs my 50amp airstream with ease. Went an entire 4 day trip and hardly used any Gass with intermittent use.

this generator is sweet

I bought this unit after my Champion generator took a dump on me. Just wanted to say this unit has been nothing short of Amazing! It has the necessary outlets and not the typical over complicated amount, as well as extremely portable! Good Job Genmax!

Great value for the money...and expandable

I did a lot of researching before purchasing this unit and its capabilities. You get a 240v plug that you can tie into a 50 amp power inlet box on your house, for example, but, as it sits, this generator is not going to produce 50 amps which is dictated by Ohm's Law. For instance, I'll be using mine on propane, which is 5,500 running watts, tied into my house that I won't be running 240V appliances on as they draw too much wattage (like the electric water heater, 5 ton HVAC, 2 ton HVAC, etc). Our power doesn't go out long enough, typically. But, if I decide I want to do that, I will buy a 2nd one and use their GM9000PK parallel kit and, with 2 generators, I will have 11,000 running watts to work with. I have a gas insert fireplace for heat in winter and two GE "U mount" window AC units to cool the rooms needed. Oh, and 5500 watts equates to about 23 amps of current and 11,000 watts would be...you guessed it...about 46 amps. On gas, it would be 12,000 and 50 amps. Compare this to their GM7250iED model that a competitor site sells for $1,659 before $300 coupon. Compare the specs...it's the same thing.

So far its paying for itself!

I read some reviews before purchasing and thought this would be a good fit for my 33' travel trailer. So the measurements online helped a lot because I needed to know if this generator would fit under my tonneau cover on my truck. I had to remove the wheels and the rubber mounts from the generator which gave me more clearance to fit under my cover. I connected my travel trailer to the 50 amp plug and I was able to use my HVAC and microwave at the same time. The only noticeable difference was hearing the engine idle on the generator change which is definitely normal under a huge load. I like the remote start and the dual fuel feature. This generator is great because it keeps you informed with what's going on at all times.

Description is a little misleading

The description was a little misleading in that when it said it puts out up to 240 volts 50 amps and i said deal. When i got the generator and started to read the instructions i realised that in order to get the 50 amps you would need 2 generators with the parallel kit and ain't no way i'm buying 2 generators and i kind of kick myself in the butt for not doing the wattage to amp math, which i should have done, cause i would have gone with one that had a higher power output. With that being said it is a quiet, multifuel, easy to operate and maintain generator with an actual 240 volt plug capable that you can hook a dryer to. God bless
