I was apprehensive when it was delivered and I first laid on it because I was used to a 4” memory foam topper on my hybrid mattress. It felt very firm to me. First night I slightly elevated my head and knees with adjustable base and slept very well. No hip aches or shoulder pain. Very happy so far with this BeautyRest Black Series One!

My previous mattress was medium firmness and became lumpy so fast that I haven’t slept well in months. I jumped up to the extra-firm, as the hubby and I are both back/front sleepers, and it has worked out perfectly. I was at first apprehensive due to the “extra” firmness but it has made me a believer. I finally am sleeping well. I appreciate the heft and quality of this mattress. The quilting on the top and sides says quality and it looks like pilling won’t be a problem. There’s handles to adjust when needed and I absolutely love that the fabric is black. No more funky spots if a kid crawls in bed and has an accident (and they’d better not!) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free for testing purposes and immediately noticed the mattress was not as wide as my previous queen! It was stunning to look at but quickly was covered with a mattress protector and sheets, these will have to be purchased new as well as traditional mattress protectors and sheets will NOT fit! I anticipated this potentially happening by be prepared! The comfort level is spot on except my boyfriend is laying on top of me with no room to spare where before with my old queen (a beauty sleep knock off) I had plenty of room!

My wife and I were looking for a for a mattress to help us out with our back. Our previous mattress was 13 years old. We settled on the Beautyrest Black series extra firm mattress and it has worked out great. Mattress is firm and feels great on our back.

I have slept on a Beautyrest for the last 10 years and loved it. I just got the Beautyrest Black series 2 to replace that one and I am so excited to sleep on it. The mattress itself is very luxurious and high quality. I have not slept on it yet, but laying on it in the store and when they delivered it, I know this mattress is perfect. It is firm and yet soft and I am looking forward to testing the cooling technology in this mattress.

The carrying handle on the side where your head is came off on one end with only 1 month of being on my bed. It is a no flip mattress so flipping cannot be blamed. I have no idea what caused it but apparently it must be sewed on cheaply. Comfort level a little too firm but I softened it up with a 1 inch foam topper. Purchased for guest room so not really getting the 30 day break in that Big Sandys prepared us for. Appears to be sinking in the middle slightly with minimal sleeping on it, which I don't understand because it's a brand new mattress.

After trying 3 beds from my local mattress store I finally gave up and went to Macys’s where I found this luxury Beauty Rest firm mattress. I have spinal fusions and chronic back pain and have had this bed 5 days and in absolute sleep heaven. I wake up with no back pain and can sleep comfortably on my back or side. This mattress is worth every penny if you want support and comfort.

Purchased the Beauty rest black and foundation.We were given a delivery window of 7:30 am-11:30 am. I set my alarm..At 6:10 am we get a call the delivery is on it's way. ( I didn't even wake up) Soon after the delivery arrived (way before the window.)and what to my sleepy eyes see? Just the box springs! So you arrived at my hoiuse at 6am something with no Mattress???? I had to fight through numbers that weren't answered, live chat that wont work, oh and the Beautyrest help office doesn't open till 10am, imagine that. Now I am again waiting for the mattress, which wont arrive for a few more days.I guess we'll sleep on the box springs tonight. Worst worst worst delivery experience ever. Beauty rest should be ashamed. Terrible, Terrible Terrible!

After our previous Beautyrest mattress failed, we got the black in series 3, firm. My husband and I bought it about 3-4 months ago. Long story short, it failed. There are two dents in the bed from us. Had the inspector come today and confirm the mattress had failed. It also is advertised as "firm", but is a "medium". Even as a medium, there should not be two big dents in the bed now. Beautyrest quality has drastically declined, and the beds are mostly stuffed with soft garbage, it seems. We are done with this brand. This is sad, because it once was a coveted mattress brand. Now they just produce trash that fails. We will be going to a private and local mattress company. Will be getting a simple, no frills mattress. Zero padding and definitely no pillow top. A firm, old-fashioned mattress is the best. I thought this bed would be it, but I should have known it had too much padding. I would definitely consider an old Beautyrest model, if still sold as new. Note: we are average weight people, and the bed looks like two cows slept in it. He is 6+ft/200, I am 5'4/125.
