I purchased this generator to use for emergency backup of essential circuits in my home. I have a small 1,500SF home and this 5300 watt unit is the perfect size to run my refrigerator, boiler, computer equipment and verizon router, some kitchen appliances and a few lights. I chose it for watt capacity and weight/size. It has a smaller engine than other models and weighs a little over 100 Lbs which is no problem to transport from the garage to a spot in the yard. To have an easy to use backup system, I also installed a Reliance transfer switch (also purchased on Amazon). The unit was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. After installing the wheels and feet, reading the operating manual and putting in some gas and oil, it started right up with the electric start. I've done a pull-the-plug test in my home and everything worked perfectly. I'm ready for another power outage if it comes along. The one negative comment I have is very minor; the graphic on start switch is is mis-labeled - easy enough to deal with. I would definitely recommend this product for someone with a small home and only a few home appliances to run in an emergency.

Purchased this generator to be able to run 240 volt water pump during power outages. Much better unit than I expected. Well built, good looking and compact design. This is first 120/240 volt generator I have owned, and by the looks of it , it may well be the last. "VERY PLEASED WITH PURCHASE"

After my champion generator failed to produce power a flawed stator. I researched and came up with my westinghouse 5300. Reviews made this purchase a no brainer 4's and 5's across the board. Actually looking forward to my next power outage so I can run this thru it's paces. I'm happy.

Bought this generator for my elderly mother. Working like a charm so far! Easy to set up, engine starts like a dream (using the electric start, which was a MUST for her, and which frequently doesn't work on most generators), and gives an amazing amount of runtime for its gas consumption. I've also heard that the customer service team is excellent, though luckily I have had no need to test that for myself. One minor issue: The exhaust pipe is covered, and surrounded by a spark arrestor frame. So while I really want to add an extension to funnel exhaust completely out of the shed, I don't have enough available pipe to clamp an extension onto. I get why the team capped and covered the pipe, but this is an issue for a generator that produces a *huge* amount of carbon monoxide - like, it will fill a small space instantly with fumes that can kill you quickly.

I bought this generator a week ago for an emergency power outage and I was able to get it shipped to me directly and quickly. It was easy to assemble and get ready to use. It came with oil and a funnel and some tools for spark plug replacement. I am happy with this purchase as it delivers the power I need to keep my house warm with hot water for showers.

Purchased this generator to replace 2 very small generators. The features are great. Especially being able to change from 120V to 240V. Living in Florida makes us prone to hurricanes. This unit will supply more than enough power to operate all the necessary appliances and lights. It was an awesome price as well.

Item arrived on time. Instructions are easy to follow filled it with oil I really liked the funnel it screws into the fill spot. filled the gas up put the choke on turn the switch on started the FIRST PULL! Can't get any better than that purrs like a kitten. A little louder than I expected though.

I bought this as a power back up for my house. Well built, runs quieter than expected, very maneuverable and was delivered in a very timely fashion. I like the fact that the directions are straight forward and easy to follow and the price can't be beat. Put the enclosed wheels on it, added the enclosed oil, filled with gas and it started on the first pull. I would recommend this generator to anyone looking for a reasonably priced back up generator.

I did alot of research on various brands and power of generators. The one I kept coming back to was this unit. The sweet spot of power ..not overkill but not under powered just perfect. I have a sub panel and transfer switch and this can run sump pump, lights , fridge , washer and electric start gas furnace. I wasnt looking for entire house power so this is just right. Super easy to assemble , wheels and oil included with electric start. Easy on gas and a nice looking unit to boot. Bought a gen tent to keep it outdoors and now am prepared for any winter storm mother nature has up her sleeve. Living in the northeast ( outside Buffalo, NY ) this is priceless peace of mind. Just finished my 1 hour break in period. Alternator cover was bent in slightly, I straightened it back out with no difficulty. I liked that break in was only 1 hour. Will change oil at 25 hours per manual. Nice that it came with oil and funnel. Started right up. Everything good so far.
