We have had two of these vacuums in less than 2 years (we bought the first one on Oct.2022 and the second in Oct.2023). Now, in less than a year, the 2nd one is broken. Had we remembered the vacuum has a 5 year warranty, we'd probably still be on our 1st one. However, both vacuums have had the exact same problem. The soft front roller (not the main one) keeps having issues. Specifically, it is driven by a plastic gear (both the gear on the vacuum head and the receiver piece for the gear on the roller are plastic), which rounds out causing the roller to stop rolling. In fairness, we have two dogs that shed a lot, and the vacuum is used almost daily. However, it is billed as PetPro, so it should handle the hair. Also, other than saving manufacturing cost, there is no reason to make that gear from plastic...it should be metal. This isn't some cheap $100 vacuum, and it should be made of better materials for the price. I will say that Shark is sending a whole new head under warranty. However, the new head only comes with the main roller, not the front one that's broken on our unit. We also had to pay $17 for shipping, and we'll need to buy the new roller for $18. So we have to spend $35 to fix our vacuum, that's only 9 months old, and cost $289. Again, we had the exact same problem with the previous vacuum. Not sure why it breaks so consistently and we have to pay anything to fix it. I will say that when it works, it does a great job. That's the only reason it gets 3 stars, instead of 1 or 2. I will also say when the warranty is up, we will look for something built better, if this is still the same.

I use it on the hard floors and it picks everything up, unlike my old vac that would shoot pieces back out. Onto the carpet, turn the setting from hard floor to carpet and it pulls all the dirt and hair from the carpet. We have a shorter carpet so I can do the full suction and it gets super clean and leaves behind those satisfying vacuum lines. I couldn't believe how much dirt I got up the first time I used this on our carpet. I really like the lift away canister option for cleaning high and low areas, makes it easier without dragging the entire vacuum around. The wand is a good long length and it comes with two tool attachments. I also use the handle cleaning without the wand a ton, it is great for getting the couch cushions, or in the car, up close. The canister is easy to empty and I am so grateful for washable filters. The odor neutralizer is also a nice added touch, it leaves the bedroom carpets smelling fresh afterwards. Last, this type of roller that is self cleaning, I can't believe how well it works. Our old roller would get completely clogged with hair and was a pain to clear out, this is always clear! I cannot say enough good things about this Shark vacuum, I am a forever customer.

The vacuum cant seem to handle the fur of our huskies. We have hardwood, carpet,and a rug. Somehow the vacuum is both too strong and too weak to actually vacuum the rug. When its on max suction it stops suctioning like theres a clog in the rollers. When its on mininum suction it cant pick up anything and i mean anything. The new roller brush is a joke. I have to constantly remove it to clean out the fur. I can usually get about 3-4 swipes on the carpet before i have to clean it. And because of this new style of roller, it just drags the fur along the carpet, leaving clumps of it all over the rug. This has the weakest suction of any vacuum Ive ever owned. I wish i had the money to get a new vacuum. it is truly a waste of money. I have heard that a lot of vacuums are going to this style of roller brush. It is not good for pets at all on carpet/rugs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Being a dog owner, we have pet hair everywhere. This vacuum does a great job of picking it all up without it getting wrapped up in the roller. Also, the odor neutralizer keeps the vacuum from smelling bad. And, the lift-away feature is great for steps, which is good in a split-level home like mine. Lastly, it is easy to set up and can be used within minutes right out of the box. I definitely recommend!

This is the nicest vacuum I've ever owned. It's not heavy or bulky, so it's really easy to maneuver around. And it really gets the carpet clean! My favorite thing about this vacuum is the "no hair wrap" brushroll, which actually works like a charm. After vacuuming my house, there wasn't even one hair wrapped around the brushroll! I would definitely recommend this product. It's a really great quality and works beautifully.

My husband I, are known to our family and friends as “the couple that vacuums a lot”. We own three different types of vacuums and our house isn’t even that big. We have two indoor cats and live on a farm, suffice to say, it gets pretty dusty at home quite easily. The Shark has tremendous power, swivels easily, has a light, HEPA FILTER, detaches with ease when working on stairs, isn’t heavy but heavy duty! The suction on this vacuum is surprisingly strong and it is small and light enough to easily maneuver under and around all of my furniture. The attachments it comes with work pretty well and it cleans my carpet and hard wood floors really well.

And let me tell you, I had no idea there were so much crumbs and dog hair that I didn't know was there. I thought my other vacuum did good. It is nothing compared to this!
