Great Generator, But

I bought this unit for backup power 9 months ago. I run it 30 minutes every month. The last time I started it, it leaked a gallon of gas around the generator. Had I not checked after 5 minutes running, I am sure my building and surrounding buildings would have gone up in a huge fire. Needless to say, I returned the unit for a refund. I can't recommend this without knowing what the problem with the generator is! Never, never, another gasoline generator.

This generator is NOT 120/240 volt

I am satisfied with this generator however if I had researched I would have bought a different unit. (The GP3300 is 120/240 volt and can be installed via a transfer panel). Only because after I bought it did I found out it is 120 volt only. My plan was to plug it into the dryer outlet and power up the circuit breakers in the main panel I only needed. BUT I learned this method is very DANGEROUS and you cannot connect it via a transfer panel. You can send your generated electricity to your neighbors home and potentially a lineman working on the power lines. Be aware of the liability. I hired an electrician to install panel on the outside of the house and manufacture a cable to connect it to the generator, he said this is legal and the right way. I tried it out and voila! I am able to power the exact breakers I wanted in my plan. I have lights where I wanted them and a 6000 BTU air conditioner. As far as I know this will not and cannot power anything 220 volt. The noise level is less than I thought it would be, but it's not quiet, it does not have that ear piercing high pitch rattling. The noise does not come from the exhaust as I thought, you don't hear the exhaust you hear the generator motor I guess. It's not too heavy, and with the wheels it moves anywhere. It tucks nicely in the garage under a 24" deep table. To sum it up: I like and will keep it because it does exactly what I wanted in the beginning. It's not too heavy and it's small enough to conceal in the garage when stored not like the large units.

Simple/easy/user friendly

I just picked up this generator under the strong recommendation from an electrician. Fantastic advice. As mentioned above it is easy to use and laid out quite simple. I find it to be built solid and durable. I love the electric start feature as well as the pull start in the event the battery is too weak to crank the engine. Battery came charged when I received it and even though we had temps at -20 to -30 all month she still fired up quite easily. Highly recommend this generator.

Can’t depend on OGE anymore….

OGE is having major issues of late on our grid. Past Sunday the weather got to -4 …. windchill -15. My electric went off for over 5 hrs and I ended up replacing the pipes in the well house due to everything freezing up. I researched and decided to purchase this Generac 7500. Very glad I did. We’ve another major storm brewing this upcoming weekend and I wanted to be ready. I can’t depend on OGE anymore and having an alternative power back up gives me the feeling of control and power over my situation. Instead of being a victim of OGE.

Runs when you need it!!

Bought this to replace an older one I gave to my son, ran like a champ for years. The new one was purchased because of the Deracho that went through our area Benton Co. Iowa, August 10, 2020. Finally found one 75 miles away in Cedar Falls. First oil change 41hrs, second change at 109 hrs. The unit ran continuous for 187 hrs. straight! One pull start every time. The unit ran our 28,00 sq. ft. home, AC, frig, freezer, lights etc. Excellent piece of equipment and reliable! Never been happier. Thanks, Lee

Excellent product!

Ran generator for approx. 50 hrs. straight, except for re-fueling, during Hurricane Irene. It provided reliable power and saved us quite a bit of money by not having to replace food. Also provided comfort as it powered my central air conditioning with no trouble. Easy to set up and start. Acceptable noise level for size of unit. Does like gas!

This a great generator and it is priced right.

I use my generator to power my house when the electricity goes out. It is sized just right for what I need. It is easy to start and set up. With the fold down handle attached it makes it very easy to maneuver the unit wherever you need it or to store it away. I have researched and used a lot of other generators and this is the best so far. I am very happy with this unit and I am sure it will bring me years of service.

Good value.

Starts easily using the pull start. Would think the electric start would be fine for an old lady. Like the extended run time as the unit uses so little fuel. I'm using 100% straight gasoline with a bit of Seafoam added which should give me a fuel shelf life of two years if need be. The use of an Generic safety transfer switch (nicely prewired) and an alm. Generac inlet box completed a functional and good looking insulation. We are using eight circuits which required the addition of two mini breakers in the Generac switch panel. That's no problem for an electrician. Bringing the system to ten circuits requires an additional breaker box. A bit noisy but not too bad. My wife says it's "a life saver."

A work horse for the Mid-West weather!!

After the several months of Severe Mid -West weather and constant power outages! We up graded our generator to the GP6500. It was very easy to set up as well as to use! The features that is nice to have on this unit were the large 7 1/2 gal gas tank, easy to pull start and power to supply my entire house!! This unit is not only great for home back up power but we also took it on our hunting trip and made the trip just a little more like home!
