Very quiet and good on gas

I bought this generator to keep our fridges going during a 4 day power outage but I was able to do more. It also produced enough power to also run with the fridges a few lights, or my water pump or my sump pump. It's also light enough that one person can handle it quite easily. It starts very easily so practically anybody could start it. Great generator for the price.

Excellent value for the money

This new unit is replacing a 9 KW portable unit that ran my whole house except for the Hot Tub and central AC. The new Generac runs the whole house with power left over. I just wish that it would come with a voltmeter. It was easy to assemble and runs great.

Excellent value.

I bought this generator for back up power for my farm house a few days before Hurricane Florence. It was easy to set up, easy to start and provided all the power I needed to keep lights on and water for my horses. A great investment. I highly recommend this generator.

Met all my initial expectations. Easy setup and easy startup.

It's kinda scary purchasing something you hope you never have to use, but for this generator ... that's the case! I expect good results sometime in the future; and I base my expectation on the homework I did on Generac Products. I think the best way to assure its reliability if I do not use it for 5-10 years, may be to simply store it as purchased ... but I have decided to run it 30 minutes every month instead. I'd like very much to give you all another review every 5 years !!

Outstanding Performance

I bought 3 years ago and used it this past 3 days straight with no issues. I ran 3 refrigerators, all the lights in the house, garage door openers, electric heater, coffee pot, and toaster over. Really impressed with the power output. Plus the tank is fairly big, and last a long time once topped off. Only con is that it is really loud.

Super impressed

Was part of the "Bomb Cyclone" that hit the PNW on 11/19/24 and lost all power. After two days, we decided to invest in a generator knowing that this could happen again. The set-up was easy, the controls were well labeled, the starting process was explained with help from stickers located above the fuel line and choke lever (but make sure to read the manual first). The unit started with ease and ran for 4 days straight as we were out 6 days total. I was able to plug in the chest freezer, mini fridge, floor heater, lights, cable with TV, recliners, computer, and was also able to charge phones and flashlight batteries. This is my first generator ever and now wondering why we didn't purchase sooner. Would have made those first two days way more tolerabe! As a suggestion, even though the unit comes with a 20' heavy duty cord with 3-plug-in capabilities, I stronly suggest having a 50' or 100' equivalent heavy gauge (12g minimum suggested) to run from the unit into the house. If there was one thing I would try and change, it would be the noise output which I know accompanies all generators and just something you and the neighbors will have to deal with unless you devise something that dappens the noise without hindering the exhaust in any way. Overall, I'm super impressed and would recommend to family and friends without hesitation.

Great Generator

I have been waiting for someone to come out with a generator large enough to have “whole house” capabilities in a portable configuration. I am a self-employed semi-retired electrician and have installed a number of generators, but this one is by far the biggest and best. I bought this one for my own house, replacing a 12,500/9,500 generator that was not quite big enough to run my entire house, especially in the summer with AC. This generator, with 26,500 starting watts and 17,500 continuous duty watts, will run most any normal size house. The only drawback with this is the physical size and weight. It really is too heavy for even 2 people to lift. The saving grace is it’s perfectly weight centered lift ring. I picked it up with a tractor and put it in the back of my truck just to fill the very large gas tank the first time. This really is a 5 star product from a well known and quality manufacturer of generators.

It's a great generator but.....

I bought this GP8000E to replace an older other brand with lesser capacity. It starts instantly and performs wonderfully but on day two I moved it on my trailer and after it had experienced a few bumps on the road I discovered that the fragile welds on the axle brackets had broken and bent on both sides. To properly weld them the unit had to be laid on each side resulting in oil spill etc. It was disappointing to see a unit with so much quality in other areas to fail on something so simple.

Nice Generator

This is a great generator as long as you keep the battery fully charged. 1. Keep the generator battery charged. It will not pull start with a dead battery. Use the battery charged that comes with the generator. 2. If you can't keep the generator on the charger install a battery disconnect between the battery cable and the battery. My battery would drain when sitting for 2 weeks or more. The switch solves the problem. I really like the generator..

Generac reputation

This is my second Generac generator. The first one that I had lasted over 14 years. I sold it because after we sold our house, the new one we purchased was larger, and the 6500 w we used could not power the entire house. So, I sold it for a good price, because it was a Generac, it has a reputation for quality that lasts. This new generator GP15000E has the power to power the entire house! It is heavy, but because it has a solid cage frame on pneumatic wheels, (located in a balanced location) it is fairly easy to move. All the controls are easy to reach and read, and with the electric start, it is effortless! The only drawback is the noise factor, however, almost all gasoline generators are noisy! If this one lasts like the last one, I will have it for a long, long time!
