I purchased this back in November just before cold weather hit. Due to high winds we have been out of power at least 3 times and up to 2 days. This generator was wonderful! First, I only had to refuel once after 20 hours. It kept my fridge running, kitchen lights, 3 lamps, TV, and two separate electric heaters. It comes with a multi-plug so you don’t have to run wires everywhere and I can actually move it anywhere myself - it’s not super heavy and it has an easy grip handle/bar so you can roll it around on its back wheels without breaking your back. Only thing I could possible complain about is it’s a bit loud, but you get use to the sound.

I just bought this generator a week ago and we had a storm and lost power. I fired up the generator and ran both refrigerators and some light in my home. This is a perfect back up. The assembly was easy and the unit is compact and does not take up much storage space.

Decent design and starts easily. Sadly, mine tends to run a little rough and noisy when loads come on and off even with only half load. Does not seem normal. It arrived in an almost totally demolished box with only 1 nylon strap and bottom was completely broken open. Delivery folks recorded the damage in there system for me. I hope it gets better after a short break-in period and more oil changes.

I PURCHASED THIS GENERATOR A WEEK AGO AND IT WAS RIGHT ON TIME. WE HAD A RAIN & WINDSTORM EARLIER THIS EVENING & OUR POWER WENT OUT AT HOME. I WAS ABLE TO USE THE GENERATOR FOR BASIC NECESSITIES (LIGHTS, FRIDGE, HEATER, & CELL PHONES) & THIS GENERTOR PERFORMED GREAT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR EMERGENCY OR RECREATIONAL USE.

I bought this ad an early Christmas gift for my husband fir his deer lease. February 14 a major winter storm hit Texas. Outsourcing power was turn of and back on every few others for 2 days. This generator was so easy to move in and out of our house fir use. Started right up each time with the touch of a button. It was really noisy at all either.

I bought this recently and assembled the unit very quickly (front rubber legs, wheels, added oil, and added gas). Read through all the directions carefully and started it with the electric start on the first try. Labels are clear and helpful on the generator. Like most, it’s quite loud. I tested out the outlets and all works great. Glad I purchased this. The handle makes moving the unit easy although I have to bend over quite a bit. A shorter person would find it completely comfortable. Not as heavy as others I’ve used, which is nice.

Westinghouse WGen5300sc was shipped ready for action. Unpacking and Setup was just as the manual stated. Oil and all tools were supplied. After filling with fuel, and connecting the battery, I pressed the start button and the system hummed to a quick start. This generator is truly quieter than competitors’ generators of same capacity. I am recommending it to all my friends. With more inclement weather and unpredictable power outages, my family is prepared to weather the storm with our Westinghouse WGen5300sc.

We've been saying we needed to get a generator for years - we live in fire territory - far too many close calls. After our 2nd power outage by the electric company due to high winds we finally started looking and landed on the WGen 5300. We are very happy we did and will most likely invest in an even larger one shortly!

Just purchased this generator. Haven't used it yet. Read a lot of great reviews on it. Have always liked the Westinghouse name. Have owned different Westinghouse products and have always been great products. This should be no different. Plus has a 3 year warranty. Hope to receive the bonus gift, generator cover!

Ordered primarily for home backup during power outages. The WGen5300v provides 240V or 120V and provides enough power for critical loads to get us through until the mains are restored. Generator was delivered as scheduled without damage. Easy to unbox and assemble. Included instructions were clear and thorough. Generator is heavy but not bad to move with the wheels. Loud but tolerable compared to other open frame generators.
