We bought two of these and absolutely love how they look in our yard, and enjoy being able to open or close the louvers as desired. All parts arrived in excellent shape, and our contractor did not have any problems with the assembly (we're not the DIY types). The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that the built-in rain gutters are very shallow, and woefully inadequate during anything other than a very light rain. If it's really raining, the water either drips or pours down from the inside edge of the horizontal supports at the top of the pergola.

Product is quality....all pieces came wrapped in plastic and are flawless in finish....4 boxes. 1 & 2 are the structure and 3 & 4 are the slats....hardware is blister wrapped with easy identifiers and plenty of extra pieces of each and several drive bits included...direction book was awesome, with detailed drawings and clear instructions, every step was detailed.....I constructed 90% of it myself with just some additional help to stand it up and add the 2 end pieces, once up, 1 person can complete adding the slat top....took me about 4 hours to construct the structure and about another 4 hours today to add the slats, and works as advertised with smooth rotation of the slats from full open to full closed....another nice feature is all the screw in hardware has a drop of loctite added....I still need to move to its final location and use the included concrete anchors to attach to my patio....I have to give this product a ten...I did not have ANY connections that did not line up perfectly, and it zipped right together.

Great functionality vs standard non-louvered pergola. This makes a 95 degree day in Kentucky feel very comfortable. Setup was easy. Two people spent one full day installing. We were missing one small piece, which was rushed out to us with no questions asked. It has also shown great wind resistance, which is a must where I live. Aluminum frames just don't hold up like steel. The only reason I cannot give 5 stars is because you cannot hang things, like a chair, hammock, etc from the frame, despite it being steel. I would also like it if BD made add-ons, like curtains for privacy and shade when the sun is at a low angle. Overall, I do love having this pergola.

Our family purchased this 14x10 after deciding the louvered feature would be perfect for the inconsistent weather Oregon can provide. Already we have seen it work wonders in diverting rain when closed and keeping my kids happy and dry while they do school work. Installation was easy enough and all items were in great condition. We have had our 14 x 10 Sarasota Pergola for almost a year now. It's been through rain, 80 mph windstorms, and a lot of sunshine, and we have been thrilled. If I could do it over again, I would have hired professional installers. Getting it put together is a two-man job, but securing it to the patio is a job for professionals, or people who really know their construction. I appreciated the clear marking of all the parts - that made assembly easier. the 14 x 10 size is ample for a 10 foot table. But most of all, it's a wonderful addition to our yard, and we love it.

We have had this pergola for about 9 months. The product is very sturdy and nice looking. We love it as long as it is not raining. But we bought it because they boast about full coverage from rain. We have very nice/expensive outdoor furniture with nice upholstery that gets soaked EVERY SINGLE TIME it rains. We cleaned out the tracks and gutters which was not that dirty and it still soaks the furniture. This is a a lot of money, HARD WORK, and more money for installation to have to put up with this issue. We are so disappointed and frustrated. I will be calling the support center. Let’s hope and pray the my will be helpful and give us a solution to this problem.

We bought 5 - 20x10 Sarasota Steel Louvered Pergolas and put them up on our beer garden patio. The first one took us just over two days to assemble, but we became experts and erected the next four in under two days total. We had one faulty part and Backyard Discovery overnighted the part to us and we were able to complete the project the next day. They even followed up with us on how things were going. Quality is top notch and the service response was even better.

I like the pergola itself because there is one major issue - no option to add patio shades! , Due to the direction of the sun, we can not use the pergola passed 3PM which is a big bummer. Patio shades would have been a solution but Backcountry doesnt have any for their pergola.

Team was very personable and helpful getting the item to me, good communication. My husband and I put this together ourselves (would recommend more people) but it was manageable! It is gorgeous.
