I also chose to use a support structure due to the weight of the air conditioner. Once it was fully installed and operation I found it to be much quieter than the unit I previously had. With an open floor plan there is a lot of area to cool and this unit has been effective so far.

This AC cools nearly my whole house (1250 sqft) when I use a fan also. I love the reliability and efficiency of the LG units. I plan on buying another small unit for the back of the house.

It is easy to operate and I like the remote so I can change the temp all the way from across the room. It was also easy to install.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought and had it installed about 2 weeks ago and so far I am completely satisfied with my choice. I like the Energy mode which cycles the unit on and off as cooling is needed. It is Energy Star rated. This will cut down on my electric bill. I like how quiet it is, but I have only used it on the low speed setting, as this is sufficient for my cooling purpose. I can not address the installation as I had it installed by a contactor.

I use it to cool my living room, dining room, & kitchen, keeping the doors closed to the bedrooms. Love the energy star feature. Haven't gotten an electric bill yet, so not sure how efficient it is.
