Outstanding Little Generator

I live on the Gulf coast and bought this 2500W inverter dual fuel generator to be used during hurricane season. I plan to power my fridge, a 5K BTU window A/C, and a few small items. I bought this in April and have completed the 5 hour break-in period. I have since used it a few times and really like the simplicity and features of this unit as well as the light weight. This will be great to take out camping. It is extremely quiet and has no issue powering up the fridge, window unit, and small electronics at the same time. I plan to use only propane with this generator as I don't want to deal with gasoline which has a short storage life and could introduce potential carburetor problems when storing for long periods. Overall, this is a great little generator. I highly recommend.

Nice Quality

Last summer I borrowed a Honda EU2200 from a cousin to use on our powerboat. Nice unit, worked as it should but was gasoline only, we wanted a propane unit since we already have a tank onboard to operate the stove. After watching a lot of videos I determined that the 2500 Dual Fuel would do the job at a significant savings over the Honda. I haven't had a chance to try it on the boat yet, but based on the operation during break-in I know it will be great. Excellent fit and finish, started fine using the Propane, quiet, what not to like! Great unit

Really impressed by this generator/inverter

I borrowed the 2500W Dual Fuel Inverter from my son during hurricane Heleine. It was my intention of purchasing a generator but never got around to it. I did not know much about this generator; but was truly amazed by it. It is extremely light and quiet. It put it outside our garage door and could barely hear it from our bedroom, which is about 30 feet away. To my surprise, it was also very good on gas. I expected with a limited size gas tank (about a gallon or so), the generator would need refueling after about 4 or 5 hours. I checked on it after about 5 hours or so and it still had about a half tank of gas. It ran in ECO mode as we only had a refrigerator, freezer, TV and a couple of lights running off it. I liked the fact that it ran at a low speed and only revved up when more power was needed. After about 11 hours, I decided to check it again and there was still gas in it. At that point, I turned the unit off, allowed it to cool and then refueled it. We were without power for 4.5 days and the unit kept going without any issue. It goes without saying that I purchased and received the unit about 3 days ago. The instructions were straightforward and very easy to follow. I also tested using my propane tank. Once again, easy to connect and start. Thanks, Champion for a well put together unit. I will definitely recommend this unit to my family and friends.

2500-Watt + Dual Fuel + EZ Start + CO Review

I use this generator with propane only. I feel much safer storing propane tanks than storing gasoline cans. It is nice to know I can use gasoline if there is no propane available. The generator is used for emergancy power loss. I purchased several 12 gauge extension cords to run critical items. The generator will simultaneously run my refrigerator, small freezer, internet, TV, TiVo, and several LED lights without overloading. The longest cord I use is 75 feet. The generator is much quieter than the generator in my RV. Many people mention starting with propane as an issue. I follow the starting instructions with 5 choke pulls. I typically have to repeat the choke-run sequence 3 to 4 times to get it to start on propane when it is cold. The temperature was 35 to 40 degrees each time I cold started the generator during break in operation. I like the eco mode and find the generator instantly speeds up as different appliances cycle on. If I know I'll have a high power demand I take it out of eco mode bu pushing the eco button. The generator size is very nice for easy storage and moving for set up. The Champion cover is good quality and easy to use. I recommend this generator for emergency situations. I am sure it works great for camping as well.

Easy to carry and enough power for camping

I are repeat buyer of Champion products. I bought a 2500 watt inverter Dual/Fuel just for camping days and I was very pleased. Champion makes quality products and stands behind their products with a great warranty. My generator has always started easy and run great. I only run my inverter on propane. The brand make honor to his name. CHAMPION

Great so far, would like more instruction re break-in

Product seems fine thus far. After the break-in period it successfully powered up my RV's air conditioning (which has a soft start/easy start). If the manufacturer is reading these then I suggest addressing these questions in your manual: 1) should break-in period be with gas, propane, or both? 2) should break-in period be done over several days (allowing the generator to cool completely between sessions) or can it be done in one 5-hour session? 3) As my unit is floating neutral I wish your generator would come with a removable bonding plug in case it's needed, otherwise, one could be stuck high and dry and not be able to solve their issue. 4) make it easier to determine the material of your stator windings!

The first five hours of usage we call the break-in period. The purpose of the break-in period is to seat the rings of the piston. During the break in period stay at or below 50% of the running watt rating and vary the load occasionally to allow stator windings to heat and cool. As with all new engines, the piston rings and cylinder need to be broken in. This is important for the newly manufactured cylinder wall and rings to seat themselves. It is not necessary to run the generator for five hours straight to do the break-in period. The generator can run for five hours over any period up until they reach those five hours. We recommend using standard 10W-30 motor oil during the first five hours of usage. Once the period has been completed, you are more than welcome to switch over to full synthetics. You can use a bonding plug like this in order to alleviate any such concerns: https://www.microair.net/products/generator-bonding-plug

Very good, I recommend this product

I bought this 2500 watt dual fuel to have a lighter generator to use while camping and hunting. It so for has stared every time on the first pull. plus it can hook up to propane and run for 30 plus hours. It is light so I won't break my back unloading it from the truck. This is my 3rd Champion and they are all great. I gave my 1st one, a 3500-4000 watt to my step daughter. It is still running great after 15 years. I bought a 2nd one to replace that one. Now I got the 2500 watt just to run the furnace, lights and electric coffee pot. that's all I need while camping with no hooks ups. It is very quiet which is another reason I bought it. Champions are very reasonably priced. I would recommend this generator for anyone.

Awesome little generator!

So far, I have only tested this out on propane, but it is really light and super quiet. You can have a conversation with it at your feet. I'm looking forward to having electric on our next camping trip. This is the second Champion Generator I've owned, but what keeps me loyal to Champion is the customer service. I needed a simple part on a unit out of warranty, and instead of charging me for it, they just sent it to me. I can't say this would happen again, but that one time made me a loyal customer.

VERY IMPRESSED!!

I bought 2 of these and the parallel kit for RV camping as well as do it yourself projects. I love the ability to use propane so I do not need to bring extra gas cans. They are quiet, powerful and very easy to start. This gives me the option to use one generator or combine them with the parallel kit for running the RV air conditioner. This system is perfect! They are light weight to move them around easily. They start quick using the proprane fuel tanks ! Very Very impressed!

A well built product with domestic support

This is a review of the Champion 201183 at 2 hours runtime. The impression out of the box is that it is solid and very well made, even though it is lightweight for the power it delivers. I like that it is bundled with extra accessories like the propane regulator holder, propane regulator, motor oil, oil funnel and USB 12V adapter. I also appreciate the quick start guide and full size manual. I also like that there is a phone number written on the generator in case I need support. It is nice that they'll send you a free t-shirt! I am running the generator solely on propane. It is very easy to start on propane, has not been a fuss. The generator runs quiet and I appreciate the eco mode. The CO minder feature has not gotten in the way of having reliable power. I have added accessories like a magnetic oil drain plug and a hour meter without fuss. I am hoping for years of dependable service from this generator, I feel like Champion has my back.
