Fixed package then it would be a good product

The batteries are ok and seem as reliable as the big brand names. The Problem with these batteries is the packaging. Whoever designed these secure packages should be required to follow around people who need the batteries and get them out one at a time for those of us who use them. Unless you carry a pair of tin snips or a utility knife with you plan on 5 to 10 minutes trying to get the blasted things out of the package. Who uses hearing aids, and hearing aid batteries, you morons? We are not always some 40-year-old who has 100% mobility. Don't use these batteries if you don't have long, strong fingernails or great dexterity. The packaging is designed so that a jackhammer is required to get them out of the package. They are good to great batteries, but horrible, horrible—let me emphasize—HORRIBLE packaging. If you can't get to the battery, it makes it a horrible product.

We are sorry for your experience with the battery packaging, timthebald. Please know the packaging was updated to follow Reese’s Law, mandating all button, coin, and hearing aid batteries – and devices powered by those batteries – be contained in child-resistant packaging. We understand the challenge in first opening the packaging but believe once members become more familiar with how it works the easier it becomes to open.

Very Long Lasting for The Cost

OK, I concede, the new packaging is terrible. Blame the government, as where i live it was mandated. That being said, I did a head to head comparison with batteries from another big box store where honestly, they're a bit cheaper at that store ($8.95). That being said, these batteries cost about 25% more than the other store (same amount), but to my surprise last about 75% longer. Also, remove the annoyance of changing more frequently and they really are a win! Cost vs Longevity, this is the winner!

VERY POORLY THOUGHT OUT DESIGNED PACKAGING

These batteries are almost impossible to open. I have broken two pair of scissors trying to open these new designed pacakages. If you're old enough to need a hearing aid, you are also old enough to have strength problems in your hands. Whoever designed this package must be very young and very strong and have NO common sense!!! Batteries are fine but if you can't get them open, you just don't use and there's no need to purchase. ON top of the packaging, this battery keeps playing the jingle like when you close the battery holder. I've had this hearing aid in my ear for 30 minutes and it still periodically plays the tune, like when the battery is first engaged.

Awful packaging for strong adults to access!!

I'm not sure why people say the battery life is short. I use my hearing aids for phone calls, listening to audio books and podcasts, and listening to movies pairing with my remote microphone. The batteries last a week or longer. Maybe they're not storing them properly or not allowing enough time to activate. These work better than Energizer or other top brands. They're priced right but the plastic packing is ridiculous to access. The cardboard packaging of the same MM type batteries is so much easier to open but come with 8 less for the same price will be my go-to batteries. This new plastic packaging is extremely difficult to open. Especially if your batteries die while driving or in a store/restaurant/movie theater/plane/anywhere else where good scissors aren't available. One basically has to purchase a good quality utility scissor to carry in a purse or a pockets to avoid not being able to hear. While the battery itself lasts a week for me, I'll go back to the cardboard packaging. Lazy irresponsible parenting is the reason for Reese's law. I'd like to give the packaging a -5 star rating.

Aids Tightly Embedded in 2 Thick Layers of Plastic

The hearing aids are tightly embedded in two layers of thick plastic. They are incredibly difficult to remove. The thick layers are very difficult to cut with ordinary scissors. Once the outer layer is removed, it is necessary to cut around the embedded hearing aids to remove them. There is no way that I was going to go to this much difficulty each time I replaced my hearing aids so I returned them for a refund. It is difficult for me to understand how Sam's would approve such packaging.

Adult-proof Packaging!

Like so many of the other reviews....TERRIBLE PACKAGING. It's child-proof and adult-proof too. I had bought several packs, not knowing they were like this, so the unopened ones are definitely going to be returned to get my money back! I'm 59 and can't get these open, so I can't imagine an elderly person being successful with these!

How was this new package redesign approved?

I won't be buying again until they change the packaging. I had to sit down and use scissors to open them, and it was still a struggle to separate the rigid plastic. No one asked for this.
