i purchased this tv specifically to connect to a laptop computer via hdmi. i have been using it for only about two weeks and have spent hours troubleshooting the hdmi connection. i foolishly passed up another tv brand for samsung because i thought i was getting a higher quality product. if the tv wasn't so difficult to box up and return to the store, i would have returned it within hours of purchasing the tv. since samsung obviously knows that the software is bad, i cannot believe they kept selling this model. i will never purchase another samsung product after this experience.

To connect your TV to a laptop, connect an HDMI cable (with an adapter, if necessary) into your computer, and connect the other end into the desired HDMI IN port on the TV. Make sure the cable is properly attached. Then, use the remote to navigate to Home, and then select Source. From there, select the PC as the video source. To wirelessly connect the TV to your device, read the instructions at PC Screen Sharing (Wireless) in Connection Guide, and then try to connect. Source > Connection Guide > PC > Screen Sharing (Wireless) Confirm that the TV and your PC are connected to the same network. If the TV has difficulties connecting to your PC due to surrounding radio interference, change the frequency of the wireless access band, and then try to connect. Great TV

Smart right out of the box
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a nice TV for my sewing studio, and this was not only the right size, but the right price. Right out of the box, it was easy to set up, and to use. My mother is not very technologically savvy, and even she can use it with ease. Great on board apps, lots of free tv, beautiful picture, and great sound. I have always preferred Samsung, and this TV does not disappoint!
Easy Setup, Great Picture
this tv was purchased for our guest room, which will be used with an antenna instead of with cable. scanning channels was easy, and the tv was able to pick up more than 100 broadcast channels. the guide is also great for a tv that is getting free channels only.
WiFi keeps dropping.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to of theses TVs that won't keep WiFi and have to do a soft reset every time it loses my IP address. I've tried the factory reset putting in everything for my Wi-Fi and manually called my internet provider and it's not on there end and it only this model that does it in my house have 7 Samsung smart TVs and it's just these 2 that do it all the other one work just fine never have an issue with them.

You may want to go through these steps to check your network connection: 1) Check the distance between the TV and your modem or access point. The distance should not exceed 50 ft. (15.2 m). 2) Minimize interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verify that there are no obstacles between the TV and the modem or access point. (WiFi strength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone walls/fireplaces, etc.) 3) Perform a network test to check if there is a network problem. Press the Home button on your remote. Navigate to Settings > Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis> Smart Hub Connection Test 4) Please be sure you have the latest firmware update which enhances network connectivity. Ver 1401.7 is now available. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to Settings>Support>Software Update Both the current version and new version number will be displayed. The current version is what your TV is using and the new version is the latest update. New updates will be downloaded and installed on your TV. Updates usually take a few minutes; please do not turn off the TV until the update is complete. When the update is finished, the TV will restart automatically. If there aren't any new updates, select OK to exit. Quality and affordable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With tv's getting less expensive each year and growing in size, we were extremely happy with the price we paid for the size we received. The quality of picture was great and making adjustments quickly with the preset picture options is a nice when changing between movies, tv and games. I have always liked Samsung products so there may be a little bias there but compared to other tv products like Roku and Visio, the Samsung product provided everything I needed. Hopefully, we will upgrade to one of their higher end products.
It's All About the Connectivity
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great picture and sound, but the best feature is the incredible simplicity of connecting other devices.I can connect my MacBook Air with one click, including both picture and sound-both are outstanding, the sound on the Samsung is better.Zoom and Go To Meeting are an entirely upgraded experience.I can actually read Excel spreadsheets without having to increase the size so much that most of the worksheet is out of view (like in the MacBook Air).Connecting to Amazon and Netflix is also simple.This is the easiest set up of any TV I have ever owned.
Great Features

It also comes with Samsung TV plus with lotta channels such that whenever you are tired of Netflix, you can just scroll through the guide and pick up any channel you choose. It's also sleek and connects pretty quickly to the internet plus the pictures are crazzzzzyyy. I urge everyone to get this.
It's big, it's cheap, but it's flaky
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] pros: big & cheap - good value for size. one of only a few displays available @ 58". cons: flaky ui / interface with lagging and freezing. very picky hdmi connections, especially when using arc audio return channel. image is bright and 'crisp', but suffers from video 'noise' unless nr is turned on, which softens everything up. judder reduction feature caused 'soap opera effect' while turning it off gives a very poor viewing experience, especially for sports.

Go to Settings > Support> Device Care > Start Device Care This service checks memory and frees up unused cached memory and closes background apps. You can try the following steps to eliminate the soap opera effect. Navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings Navigate to and Select Picture Clarity Settings The default setting is Auto. This means the feature automatically turns on and off based on the type of program being watched. Change the setting to either Off or Custom. If you select Custom, three additional options are available for further customization to your viewing preference. -Blur Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Blur setting. -Judder Reduction: Use the directional keys on the remote to adjust the Judder setting. -LED Clear Motion: This option allows you to configure the LED backlight to sharpen fast-moving images. Select to turn On or Off. I hope this helps.
