Member's Mark Spiced Caribbean Rum 1.75 L

Don't you LOVE reviews that start off making excuses for a poor quality product?  Wow.  This stuff...well, it's a college boy's dream!  It has an immediate vanilla note and then everything disappears into....nothing.  NO flavor.  No burn.  No-thing!  I could tell there was likely the labeled amount of alcohol in it but you couldn't taste a thing, much less any spices.   Wow.  From now on, avoiding SAM/Maker's Mess brand of anything I can.  This was simply horrible and helped clean the disposal/drain a bit on it's way out.  AVOID.

Considering the price, it is a great substitute for Captain Morgan.  It is far better than Bacardi's offering.

I'm a baker and Member's Mark is all I use for rum balls and rum cake. Great value when we have company over.

I am typically a captain Morgan fan, but the members Mark brand is fantastic. Smooth and good flavor I give it five stars

I had a bottle of Brugal Rum on my shopping list.  I couldn't find it in the usual place(s) in my local club.  I asked a staff member in the department where it was, who responded that Sam's was no longer carrying Brugal, but a new Member's Mark Spiced Rum was now being offered instead, adding that it was priced lower than the Brugal.  My experience is that Members Mark products are typically quite good and suitable replacements for similar brand name products, so, I bought a bottle of this MM spiced rum.  What a disappointment!  Yes, it was priced a few dollars less than the Brugal, but those fewer dollars were wasted, since, unfortunately, this was not at all near the taste and quality of the Brugal Rum. I myself will not be drinking it and would certainly not serve it to guests!  It isn't even a good version of a spiced rum!  If Sam's continues to offer this, I will not buy it.  I hope the buyers will bring back the Brugal to the in-store offerings.  I'd rather pay more and get a good product.

I only drink spiced rum and the only brand for year I would drink was Captain Morgan. Not a big drinker so I could be picky and if a restaurant/bar was out of Captain, I would stick with pop. Someone suggested I try Member's Mark Spiced Rum, since it was so cheap, I figured it I didn't like it, I would toss it. But I loved it. It has more vanilla overtones and is milder tasting than Captain Morgan. Mixes well with my Diet Pepsi and now my preferred brand, plus it is 1/2 the price! My only complaint is that the glass bottle is heavy!
