Bought when we moved to SC. Wired up a 50amp plug outside, interlock on the main panel just in time for Ian to visit. Ran the entire 2500sq/ft house during our wedding reception while Ian visited. I did have the AC and hot tub breakers off, but there is enough leftover juice for AC if needed.

Just purchased for home backup power source. Very easy assembly and setup. Well constructed and excellent features. Fuel economy is perfect for my application and allows 12 hours of operation with the substantial fuel tank. Documentation is 100% with complete parts listing and maintenance procedures.

We purchased this generator almost a month ago and couldn't be happier with our decision. Living in Eastern NC, we experience hurricanes yearly, and we get the occasional winter snowstorm. We live out in the country and anytime any such storm is forecasted, its practically a guarantee we will lose power. In the past, these power losses have been anywhere from a few hours to several days. I have a 26-year-old special needs daughter who spends the majority of her life on the internet. Of course, no power...no internet, It doesn't take long before everyone is in a fowl mood. Also, if the outage extends more than a few days we lose 2 chect-type freezers full of food and everything in the refrigerator. Added to all of this, I, myself was put on oxygen by my doctors in July. Its something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. As you can read, taking all of these circumstances into account made selecting a generator a very important decision. We did our homework and researched several different models and brands. After much deliberation, we decided on the Westinghouse WGen 9500. It met all of our needs and then some, It's big enough for the square footage of our house, and having the option of using the remote is truly a blessing, I don't want to have to go out in a storm at my age to pull start it, at 70 years old, it's not safe. We haven't had it a month yet but have already put it to the test. We took almost a direct hit from tropical storm Ophelia last weekend. We lost power before the storm even made landfall. Within minutes we were back up and running. Nobody got fussy without the internet, we had no loss of food and I was able to continue on my oxygen. This generator is definitely a lifesaver. We do have plans to have it hard wired to the house when finances permit but even using it with cords, we couldn't be happier. I would like to receive the cover to protect it. We experience power outages 3-4 times a year regardless of the maintenance the linemen do. A friend suggested this brand as "rock solid" and he was right! easy to put together along with engine prep and in using the key fob fired right up on the first hit! the push button start on the unit itself fired up in one push . . .now i know my wife can start it if i'm not home and its gives her confidence to!

Having just opened carton and easily attached wheels and pads, I oiled and gased up my new generator. After reading starting instructions I turned on the switch and pushed the start button. Wow….it instantly fired up. So far I’m impressed! Now to see if it powers up my house.

Easy setup after generator arrived. Added oil and gas and it fired right up with the electric starter (the remote control start/stop is a nice touch}. Power was a steady 122/244 volts at 61 HZ. The power meter built into the unit seems accurate compared to my meter. Haven't used it for an outage yet, but I have no reason to doubt its quality.

I bought this generator because if the wind blows it seems the power goes out where I live. It is big enough that I can run most of my house and the price was pretty good I felt. It has electric start and it automatic choke so you don't have to mess around with it much. It also has a remote start which is kind of nice. I haven't used it a lot but overall I am happy with my purchase.

I was out of power last year for 6 days because of a hurricane but only a day for Katrina. I will not go through that again. I unboxed it and followed all instructions and it started up the first crank. Great investment. I will be prepared this year.

We purchased this generator because we live pretty far out in the country and get occassional severe weather that knocks out our power. The set up was absolutely simple and took all of 10 minutes. Started right up with push button start, manual pull cord and remote start.

Bought this for use with an interlock kit I purchased. Starts right up and has enough power to run almost everything in my house. Even runs the upstairs central air (smaller unit than the main house central air). Love the remote start feature and ease of use!
