Good and bad

No question about the quality of the tire, but the 80K rating (something which was admittedly a key factor in my decision to buy) meant THE hardest tread compound of any tire I've ever purchased. The result was THE noisiest, roughest ride on a car (2012 Outback) which wasn't the smoothest or quietest riding to begin with. But for those whom maximum mileage is your #1 goal beyond all else, then this should be among your first choices.

Love these

I am putting my second set of these tires on my car and have had a set of other Michelins in the past as well. They did last to the mileage mentioned so I would assume those poor comments may be due to lack of care on the owners part. I always rotate at my 8,000 km maintenance at the garage if needed and I always do alignments and keep air pressure correct as needed. Just like any part, proper care is needed. I drive 40-50,000 km/year, These tires are a little louder but stop great in bad rain or snow, even on my old car that had standard brakes. I highly recommend these

Loudest Michelin tire

After many years and many miles, took off a set of Michelin Primacy tires and replaced them with Michelin Defender T + H tires on my wife's 2008 Toyota Avalon Limited. These Defender T+H are are loudest Michelin tires I ever hand a car. They were load enough that I though it may have been a wheel bearing, but the Toyota dealer said it was the tires. Previous tires were quiet Michelin HydroEdge on a Nissan Maxima and Michelin Premier on a Buick Lucerne. I should have bought Michelin Premier which were smoothest quietest tires ever. But bought the Defender T+H because of the extreme long tread life.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Jeff. We would recommend getting a tire inspection at an authorized dealer. Please have the dealer contact us at 866-866-6605 to report their findings.

Gripping Quiet Tire

Bought four Defender T+H tires for our 2006 Honda Odyssey LX which we drive in the Midwest. The tires have very good grip in normal, dry, paved-road conditions and are very quiet. The ride has been silky smooth at all speeds. We haven't had a chance to drive with the tires in rain or snow yet. We are very happy with their performance and would purchase them again, or for another vehicle. We first found out about the Defender Tire from Consumer Reports magazine's reviews. Michelin made them affordable with their 70 dollar rebate which you can fill out online. When comparison shopping, always ask for the "out-the-door price".

Great traction!

I own a 2016 Honda Odyssey Elite and have disliked the Primacy MXV4 tires that came with the van. The traction and handling were always terrible, and the tread wore down much too quickly. I wanted to purchase the Defender LTX M/S that we have on our Honda Ridgeline pickup, but they don't make them in the size that we need for the Odyssey. So I decided to try the Defender T+H and am happy that I did. The ride is firm, solid, and stable. Although these tires are a bit noisier than the Primacy tires, I'd much rather have the traction and handling. If you own an Odyssey minivan, I highly recommend this tire!

Disappointed!

I purchased 4 Michelin Defender tires in December of 2017. Was advised yesterday by my dealership after having an oil change not to rotate the tires. The tires on the back are at 3/32 and the front 4/32. Since my Civic is a front wheel drive automobile, having the better of the tires on the front will help with the upcoming winter weather. Extremely disappointed! I really thought I would get 3/4 yrs out of Michelin. Two years is just not acceptable. Going to Sam's Club tomorrow for what is to be a tire rotation but will hopefully be the installation of new tires. Going to ask about Goodyear, especially after reading Michelin reviews!

Quiet and smooth

I bought these yesterday in Salt Lake and they are great. On the way back home they much quieter than the Douglas extra tracks that I replaced. They also rolled much smoother, there was a little bit of vibration but I think it was from over inflation when they mounted them. I lowered the pressure from 42 psi., to 35 psi and took my truck for a drive and the vibration is gone . These are great tires and I would buy them again if still available, but Michelin does not show this size anymore in the Defender T+H, the other deciding factor is if my truck is still operable as it is 34 year's old.

Excellent Ride quality and Excellent in Wet Weather

I put these tires on my 1999 Chrysler 300M as a replacement for Michelin Defender LTX M+S, (Which I loved and still use on other vehicles) and have been incredibly happy! The road noise is all but non-existent, and the performance in wet weather is phenomenal. I will only use Michelin tires on this car! Worth every penny!

Great tires!

I own a 2012 Prius in the Northeast. Have 220K, going to buy my 3rd set soon before winter. Originals were high mileage tires which were terrible in the snow. Bought these tires at 50K and on. I squeeze as much as I can too. Your mileage will take a 5-10% hit b/c they are all-season. Was geting close to 60 mpg, now get low 50s. Great commuter!

Awesome Tires for my Prius!

These tires are awesome! The ride is fantastic- smooth and quiet. I read the reviews of many tires and the Defender T&H had the least complaints and most praises. I see one commenter saying their gas mileage dropped with their hybrid. I had the exact opposite happen. My mileage increased by 4 miles per gallon. Maybe the installers under inflated their tires or whatever.
