Very fast boiling water in a few minutes. Much faster than boiling water in a pot on the stove. I love to pre-heat a mug, have tea anytime, jump start cooking hot cereals or grits, and condensed soups. I'm taking it on vacation with me. The noise of water starting to boil doesn't bother me at all... because I know what's coming!

I boil water just above the minimum amount line in 3 minutes for large 2 cups mug of hot tea. I appreciate the speed in which the water boils. I will use this fast way to boil water to add to something I am cooking on the gas stove to get that cooked faster too. I love this water kettle.
