I really enjoy the console and was able to bring games from my External hard drive to the console from xbox one with ease. don't listen to the guys who say "PS5 is better" or those who gave 1 stars before it even released. Buy the console you want and one that you'd prefer.

Right after I made this order, I saw it in Amazon Prime at retail price 299.99. Meanwhile, I paid 435 here. So I returned it immediately before opening. I think it's sad what businesses and third parties have been doing to the sneaker and gaming industry.

The Series S is a nice compact system that offers a "budget" option into the next-gen gaming market. The graphics quality is acceptable at 1080p and it has great load times, but the internal storage can only handle 4-5 average sized games. External hard drives are a must have for storing some Xbox 360 and Xbox One games, but anything that has already been optimized for X/S (including popular Xbox One era games such as Forza 4, Fortnite and Halo:MCC) will have to be installed and run on the very limited internal storage. I had expected to have to install and juggle the next-gen Series X/S games on the limited internal 360GB usable storage, but the requirement to also run so many last gen games from internal storage was unexpected and I'm finding it hardly manageable. I'd give this console 5 stars if it shipped with a 1TB internal drive. As-is, 364GB usable is a joke.

Majority of my library was digital already, so this console not having a disk tray didnt matter to me. Its small and quiet which is nice. Only drawback is it needs a larger memory. However you can use external hard drives to make up for the lack of storage space

sorry for it being so long; recently, my 7-year-old Xbox was having problems playing fallout, which was understandable, and I just got the new box S to hopefully fix the problems of the game crashing once in a while, it did not. It has gotten so much worse, how is a brand new console with better specs going to perform worse than my 7-year-old console? every single time I load up fallout and get in combat, it freezes and stops working. And in watchdogs which I never had had a problem before it froze up on me as well! I was hoping it was because I was downloading some games while I was playing (which should still not be a problem in my opinion) but even after nothing should have stood in the way of me having a great experience with my brand new series S, it still crashes every single time, which is much more frequently than my original box one.

This little console packs a serious punch. Perfect for playing GamePass games and its compact size can be placed just about anywhere. Whether you have a 4K or 1080p TV, the games are going to look great and load much faster thanks to the SSD drive. While graphical performance may not be on par with the Series X, it's still ahead of the One X in both speed and performance.

The Xbox Series S is a great budget gaming console that will run plenty of games at 1080p, 120fps and even more at 1080p 60fps. There are a few games that run at 1440p 30 or 60fps as well. The main issue with this console is that when it's running games at high framerates, it suffers from terrible dynamic resolution scaling issues. I have my Series S sitting in a way that maximizes airflow in a nicely air conditioned room (68F at all times) and regardless, any game that is even moderately new (CoD MW, Halo MCC, Halo 5, Battlefield V, Battlefield 1, Forza Horizon 4, Gears of War, etc) will struggle to maintain 1080p. Even when you dial back the refresh rate from 120 to 60, many games will become incredibly pixelated or blurry. The worst offender by far is Modern Warfare/Warzone. Player models, particle effects, and shadows become a pixelated, aliased mess at more than about 30m distance which causes terrible issues with visibility in multiplayer. Considering you'll end up spending around $100 more than MSRP for this thing and still getting what in my opinion is Xbox One S visuals but at 120fps, and only 120fps on games that are specifically supported on the Series S, I would say the smart play is to just wait until the Series X is in stock. RocketDrop did a good job with shipping. The console showed up well ahead of schedule and was not a "refurbished" console. It came in its original packaging and with all the standard peripherals. These include a controller, batteries, console, power cable and an HDMI 2.1 cable. There is no USB-C cable included to charge the controller, and no headset. Keep this in mind when purchasing this generation of console. Microsoft and Sony both would rather you buy one of their "officially licensed" headsets than ship a cheap one with the console. Also, as mentioned above, you will be overcharged for this. The way RocketDrop makes their money is by charging an absolute fortune for shipping so they can turn a profit on sales of these brand new consoles. The age of MSRP vs store price has reached the console world. Don't expect to pay $299 and just be done with it. Shipping and taxes totaled about $100. Buy this console as a gift for someone who is an Xbox fan but doesn't care too much about graphics. It's still better than a One S.

I was able to preorder the console and it was delivered to me 6 days before the release! I was one of the few to get an early delivery! The console is a solid gamepass machine and it also runs the latest titles in upscaled 4k. Games look fantastic in 4k, no complaints. The boot up time is amazing, just a few seconds. It's super silent. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Load times for this are crazy fast. Ark used to take 5 minutes to load from start to spawn with the xbox one s. Now it is maybe 30 seconds. Graphics look much better even though i only have a 1080 tv. Very pleased with the product. NewEgg has a 5 terabyte usb drive for $98 that works great with the series s. Just keep the games labeled for series s or x on the system storage and keep the other older games not labeled for series s or x on the NewEgg usb storage device and it works great.

When I purchased my Series S I was originally pretty hyped about getting a new console at retail price. However, I was a bit annoyed when I got home to find that it came with no power supply, controller, or HDMI. Thankfully I have the right type of cord laying around from an old PS2, so I was able to improvise, as well as having a controller from my old Xbox that was usable. Slightly disappointed, but it is what it is. At least it works.
