After having the original Nutribullet for years (600 watt), I decided to get a more powerful machine for my smoothies. I also wanted sip lids instead of using straws, and two sip lids for my Nutribullet would have been around $20. I tried a new Nutribullet blender/smoothie maker combo, but it was huge, and so loud that I had to plug my ears! I returned it and got this Ninja from Sam's for only 49.99! A much better deal than just two sip lids for $20. People who complain about the noise need to understand that the motor is very powerful. With the great power comes the noise. However, this 1100 watt motor is not nearly as loud as the 1400 watt Nutribullet that I returned. Also, I suspect that the ones who have had their cups warp in the dishwasher might not be using the top rack only, as instructed. I will always hand wash mine anyway, to keep the cups sparkling clear, and to avoid eventually drying out the plastic. This is a great machine!

This blender and blade will last a lifetime if you hand wash it but if you put the cups in the dishwasher the heat will shrink the plastic and your blades won’t screw on right anymore. It’s very easy to hand wash though so i find it’s only a mild inconvenience. If you find yourself not being able to screw on the lids after the dishwasher, don’t try and force them because the cups will start shedding plastics pieces and it could crack the blade. The cups just need to be replaced. The blade and blender all still work fine!

Durability is the problem. I’m on my third machine in a year and half. Hopefully the replacement I received this time will last longer. I use half cup frozen berries, half fresh banana and my almond milk and protein powder. No ice. No big chuncks . It blend that easily. The consistency is nice when it works properly. Nice smoothie. Crossing my fingers.
