Waste of money

I bought this furniture last summer, and it looked great for a few weeks, then it started discoloring and cracking. I tried to reach the manufacturer for months, and when I finally did, their response was to sand it and put teak oil on it. I live in California, so it was not caused by weather. It was supposed to have a one year warranty, but they do not stand by it. The brand is Joshua Lane.

We have owned this set for over 3 years now. We use it outdoors from Spring-Fall.The quality is not the best of Teak but it has lasted without any issues. The color of cushions are not very practical but has held up for us. We do clean them each year. The assembly was not difficult. Everytime we see the expensive Teak furniture sets, we marvel over them and question should we buy one? But it doesn't make sense to splurge when this has held up and looks beautiful.

Faded and broken zippers

It’s a beautiful set and the teak is nice and sturdy. The problem is the cushions. They have faded in only a few months under a covered porch. They look like we’ve had them for years. Plus one of the zippers is broken on the cushion cover and it will not close. For the price I wouldn’t purchase again. Too expensive to have these issues.

Beautiful Teak, Cushion Covers Terrible

I've had the set for one year. After one season in a covered screened in porch, the cushion covers have mold on them. As another reviewer wrote, there is no way to remove the seat covers. They have zippers but you would never get them back on. I couldn't even get them off. I have researched how to clean mold from canvas and am now using rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to remove the mildew. It is taking forever. I knew I was taking a chance buying white covers but I certainly didn't expect that the fabric would not withstand the little moisture that exists in a screened in porch. I even moved the pieces to the center of the room when it rained. Are replacement cushions, or covers that go over the existing ones, available anywhere? Please advise. Thank you.

Dollar Per Dollar Best Value on there

Really good price for a 7 piece Teak Sofa Set. The White cushions are removable and washable, but come on....it was wrapped in plastic and it still got some dust/dirt on it!!! Poor color choice. This Teak set is actually going UNDER an Awning off my porch which makes a lot of sense as for the most part will be covered.

chic teak at bargain price

we are on our 2nd summer season and still love this set. We oiled the set after assembly and the warm teak coloring is looking lovely still. Covered the chairs and bench with Sam's Veranda series of covers....very good set of covers! These covers are also sold at Target. I regret NOT covering the 2 tables over the winter. I had to lighlty resand and apply oil to tables to refresh them. They turned out perfectly, just like new. I have since ordered covers for the tables as well. Love the set so much, just ordered teak dining 6 piece set to match. I ordered Pottery Barn grommet drapes for patio as well. Looks like Pottery Barn catalogue every time I step out onto patio. Gotta love the price!!! Chairs are roomy, cushions very thick and they match the PB drapes in coloring.

Looks good but not the quality I was expecting

Pros: Love the design and the set definitely looks much more expensive than it was. Relatively easy to assemble but definitely needs two people and a power screw driver. Used teak oil to protect the natural wood and application was very easy. Couple of the cushions arrived stained and were promptly replaced. Cons: The wooden support slats (under the seat of the chairs and on the tables) are very thin and I am not sure how they are going to wear. For example I would not recommend that someone sit on the coffee table (which I would like to say will never happen - but with lots of kids around, probably will...). I fear the wooden slats might give way....

Beware - Don’t waste your money!

I bought this last summer based on the pictures and reviews. Assembly was straight forward and the quality seemed good - especially real teak at this price. The wood color is not what is pictured, nor what most would think teak should look like - it’s bare, untreated wood without a sealer or stain. They tell you this in the description, so I don’t have an issue with that but the pictures deceive. My biggest problem is the cushions fade VERY fast. Mine started royal blue and faded to silver/gray in 2 months! They look horrible now. Replacement cushions with durable Sunbrella will cost over $1,000!! The cushions are not really comfortable either, but would have been ‘ok’ if not for the fading. The warranty doesn’t cover the fading either... Save your money and make sure to get something with Sunbrella fabric. If you still feel the need to buy this set, I’ll sell you mine...

Well made but...

The actual construction and quality of the furniture is very high...we have had this now for 3 years and the furniture has held up. We have had to sand and re-oil every summer to keep the color but looks almost like new! The one downfall...which is turning out to be a HUGE downfall is that you cannot wash the cushions. They are light and show every bit of dirt and mildew. The back cushions come right out and can be washed - they look just like new! All the other cushions have a zipper and look like you can do the same with these. The inside padding is so tight that it will not come out and when I tried one it ripped the entire cushion on the seam. Very disappointed that the cushions are made this way (and even more upset that one has ripped). VERY POOR DESIGN. If you end up having to replace the cushions, this set will end up costing the same as any other set.

cushions fade quickly

I bought this set about a year ago and while I'm happy with the set overall, the wood part & construction of it, I am disappointed with how the cushions have worn and faded. We have our set under a large covered patio with little to no direct sunlight (we even installed a drop down shade to minimize wear and fading). Our cushions look like we have had them for years and they either need to be replaced or recovered which will be very expensive. I expected some fading due to being outdoors, but this is far more than expected. A friend even commented on the fading after we only had them 2-3 months. We purchased the navy blue cushion color. Hope this helps someone, eyes wide open.
