Customer reviews for Firestone Destination X/T - LT275/70R18/E 125/122S Tire forX/T good so far!
I have two sets of the Destination X/T tires. One on a single cab Tacoma and one set on a Chevy Silverado 2500. Overall great tires. I wish they were available in a standard ply for smaller truck. They do ride stiff on my Tacoma. I do notice a bit more road noise on my heavier truck. Better off pavement traction than the destination AT tires I've used in the past.
Really great tire
Bought a set of these tires, didnt even look at the price until it was time to pay. I felt they were really expensive. My bill with evrything including road hazard and some air sensor kits was drive out 2394 and some change..thats almost 600 a tire, 65,000 miles later these tires still have decent tread on them.. i'm only replacing them because Im going on a road trip and I hate having tire issues.. i am buying another set and not even thinking twice about the price.. wish they were a little cheaper.. I would recommend these tires to anyone with a truck or suv.. the excellent on wet roads and pretty decent on what little offroading I do.. truck is mostly on the highway..
Nice Tires. Great for winter driving.
Never bought "good" tires before buying a set of the Destination X/Ts. Always bought Light truck driving tires, or maybe all-terrain. The traction during the winter with those was not good, had to put sandbags in the back. These Destination tires have great traction in the snow and ice so I no longer need weight in the back. This is my second set and I would recommend them to anyone. They are noisier than highway driving tires and am not sure if they are noisier than any other all-terrain tire.

Just wanted to say Firestone crew did an awesome job In a short time frame. While waiting for my vehicle they had some upset customers that don't understand the process of how the work is done. But the staff handled it great and that make me want to come back for future purchases. Monique,Justin and Brain did an outstanding job.You have a great group of employees out in shop as well.GREAT JOB GUYS...
So good I bought them again
I was looking to replace the OEM LT tires that I was never really thrilled with. The Destination XT had just been released, based on the attributes description and Firestone's 90 day buy and try I felt confident to buy. I turned out be very pleased that I did. The Destination XT is an all around great performer, off road confidence and really good on road manners. I am particularly impressed with tread life, how quiet and comfortable the ride is. I put 55,000 miles on and still had 6/32" of tread depth! I replace at that point to have maximum Winter performance. I was so impressed with the overall performance and value I replaced them with another set.Of course I follow the sound tire care recommendations of my Firestone Complete Autocare Team inflation, rotation, balance and alignment. I have no doubt that I will purchase a third set when the time comes.
Good highway tire. TERRIBLE off road tire.
Ad states "Kick up some dirt with the Firestone Destination X/T on- and off -road tires...you can depend on these tires to take you anywhere because tough terrains require an even tougher tire." Do let that fool you. The first time I took these tires off road, I had some minor chunking. The people I was with (all experienced off roaders) noted how my new tires were chunking in the Arizona sand. The next time I took them off road, they chunked a little more. This last trip, I was the only one to suffer any tire damage out of the three of us and was the only one running Firestone's. I had a front sidewall chunk that was almost to the plies and a pinhole in the sidewall that required a plug. Yes, you shouldn't plug a sidewall, but I had no choice as my rear tire also had a pinhole in the tread and I only had one spare with me. This was the first day of a seven-day trip. I ended up being towed up a couple of obstacles because the other people were afraid of me blowing another tire. We were saving my spare for the road trip home. Granted I am running LT275/55/20 E tires at full air pressure due to the small sidewall, but I expected more from these tires. Very disappointed in a premium tire that I will have to replace at least two of them with less than 5,000 miles on them. I'm thinking of just switching brands and replacing all five tires. On road, they were great. A little sidewall flex in winding mountains but nothing bad. Quiet. Good grip. We've had record lack of rain in the 6 months that I've had the tires, so I don't really have much of an opinion on wet handling. The one time it did rain, they handled it fine. I really thought I made a good choice as Firestone is a premium tire manufacture and these weren't cheap. Too bad that I'll probably dump them as only two of the five tires I could even hope to get a couple of bucks for.

Consider this tire
I have a 2018 Chevy 2500 HD 4WD PU with the Duramax engine. Use this vehicle to pull our 5th wheel trailer (about 13,000 pounds) and our boat (about 1,500 pounds). Use the truck for on-road and off-road travel. 40,000 miles on tires, of that 12,500 were pulling our 5th wheel. Rotate about every 5,000 miles, have had the tires rebalanced twice and the front end realigned once since bought the tires. At 40,000 I am replacing them, 3/32 of tread on two tires and 5/32 on other two, likely due to the more worn tires being on rear when pulling trailer more often. Live in a mountain valley at high elevation so 3-Peak rating was important at initial purchase. Tires have worn evenly. While not as quite as a highway tire, for an "aggressive" all terrain tire they are quiet and provide a comfortable ride. Noise has increased some as tires have become more worn. Traction in all situations I have been in, (dry, wet, snow, ice, mud, gravel/rock) has been everything I expected. While I wish we had gotten closer to the 50K warranty tread life, I am satisfied enough with the tread life we got given how we use this vehicle that I am buying another set. Safe travels and please remember to be kind.
Firestone Service
James was very helpful when I was looking for 10 ply tires. Wanted these due to pulling trailer and he took me directly to page on site so I could see specs for myself and made it easy to purchase online or in-store. We ended up going in-store to buy and see in person. They look really nice on our truck. Took it from looking like a regular Truck to a nice work truck that can handle anything.

I first tried these tires (285/60/20 on Fuel Wheels) on my 2020 Ram 2500 Diesel because of the price point and liked that the sipping when all the way through the tread block. This is very important as most tires do not and after 15,000 miles are so you have lost your good rain traction. I ran those tires in the rain and snow plus off road when hunting and never let me down. Having tires that perform like the day you bought them through the life of the tire is amazing. The sipping goes all the way down to the wear indicators plus these tires are 3 peak rated so they don't freeze and get hard in winter causing a lose of traction. I put almost 50,000 miles on the tires in a truck that weighs almost 8,000 pounds loaded. I have since bought them for my 2021 Chevy Trail Boss in 285/65/18 and they are great. If you are looking you know the top brands but I took a chance and it made me a believer. My son have a 2019 Trial Boss with KO2's and they ride terrible but he is a KO2 fan so you cannot convince him there are better options but he is starting to come around as he drives over bumps and your filling come loose.
unsatisfied customer
purchased tires in April and had one of the tires go flat today while driving. upon inspection of tire, could not find any foreign objects or holes, so tried filling tire up with air. immediately i could hear it leaking, flipped it over and could see the large 'tear' or 'crack' between 2 lugs and going down towards the sidewall. when i brought the tire back in to the shop that sold and installed the tires, they tried to tell me that it is a puncture/cut and is road hazard. I do not have road hazard, but there is no way this is a puncture or cut. How do I have this looked at for a 2nd opinion for a manufacture defect? I can attach pictures if that will help. as of now the shop is not willing to cover anything on this almost brand new tire.
