We purchased our Gazebo about a month ago and it is one of the best purchases we ever made! We love our back deck, but in the afternoon and early evening, the sun beats down on the deck making it almost unusable. We installed the Gazebo on the deck and added roll up/down blinds to the west and north side, a ceiling fan, and lighting. Our only regret is that we didn’t do it 20 years ago. My wife and I installed the deck doing most of the work ourselves. We engaged our son to help lift the 12 foot roof panels into place. You definitely need at least 3 people for that step. The instructions and BILT app were absolutely perfect. They were very clear and we didn’t encounter any mistakes or issues. We finished it with linseed oil, which we plan on reapplying twice a year (spring and fall).

Take your time and follow the directions exactly and things will work out well. The gazebo looks great and is sturdy. I've had it up now several months and it is hasn't moved at all and I live in a very windy area. This gazebo really solved a problem for us - we couldn't use our back patio in the summer because of the direct sunshine. Now we can use the patio year round.

Packaging (see picture) was efficient and unpacking/sorting/staging a breeze. Each part was individually and accurately marked. Instructions and assembly also a match! It really enhances the beauty and usability of our yard. We cannot recommend Backyard Discovery's products to anyone! (We do regularly) Our friends have consistent called attention to the beauty of the interior roof. We have our eye on a Grillzebo for the coming Spring!.

We bought this gazebo to provide some much-needed shade for poolside seating. Our patio is in full sun all day and we decided on the 16x12 Barrington to give us the largest seating area that fit the space. We have a huge patio set underneath it where it feels 10 degrees cooler on the hottest days. I built this myself, and only required help at 2 points in the build. I needed help at the beginning to get the posts stood up and then again at the end to get the roof structure hoisted and installed. Setting up the post sections were pretty simple and 2 helpers made that an easy task. Setting up the roof panels was definitely more complicated, the smaller 12' sections weren't too bad with 2 helpers and a few clamps. The 16' roof sections were a bear, 3 helpers (4 ladders) were needed - one at each post, one in the center of the posts and me up at the peak. Also needed 4 clamps once in position and then having the right hardware and tools ready was necessary. I personally wouldn't try it with less than 4 people due to the safety risk. Everything else about the installation went exactly according to the manual. Everything was cut, pre-drilled and lined up without any issues. Everything squared up pretty easily and the hardware was pretty high quality, and you get extra of everything because inevitably you will lose or strip some of the hardware. Installing the posts anchor bolts into my patio were probably the hardest part. I used a hammer drill with a carbide bit and still some of the anchor bolts snapped. I went out and bought some blue tapcons and painted them black after installing. All in all, for the price this is probably the nicest Gazebo on the market. The snow and wind ratings are what sold me and I'm happy in the decision. I would have liked the choice of a darker stain on the wood, but when it comes to re-stain I will go darker. Otherwise we love it. I had to contact customer support for a question on a Sunday, and they were available on chat and quickly helped me resolve it. Someone even ran out to check one they had pre-built on site to confirm a measurement question. Really appreciate that!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought and installed this a month ago, the install process is lengthy so I recommend packaging with an install. The only real issue is the kiln dried wood dried warped over time, so try and keep the product out of the sun If installing over multiple days. As with most kits, the most time consuming process is sorting parts. Overall I have gotten lots of compliments and would recommend this product.

Love these CAD based tutorials. Only critique - none of the part numbers on roof sheet metal pieces matched those listed in these directions. I was able to use judgement and process of elimination to figure it out however this did cause a bit of stress and confusion which translated to additional unnecessary build time.

I just completed the staining and assembly of the Barrington 14x12 gazebo. You won’t find a better company than Backyard Discovery for pre-sales & installation support, quality materials, 5 yr. warranty, and beautiful design. We are extremely pleased!!!
