Chicken Pot Pue

I remember back in the day when your chicken pot pie was full of gravy that would bust open from the top of the crust and actually tasted good. I just watched my dad cook one today and he cut it open and it was as dry as the state we've been living in.. Absolutely pathetic. There was no gravy or juices at all. Just dry chicken, potatoes, and everything else. Absolutely pathetic. Half full chicken pot pie.

hugh disappointment

We are in our 70's and have eaten your products for a long time especially pot pies. The last two were a surprise and disappointment. One was mostly chicken cartilage, fat and skin, about 4 carrots, one very small piece of white meat. The other only slightly better. Your TV ad shows all the great ingredients being placed in a home made crust! We know they are really made on a huge assembly line, however, someone is in charge of quality control. The package numbers are: 5014 4337 00P1 19:13 P45. Sincerely, Burt and Jane

Herbs in the Chicken Gravy

Thought I was eating a Turkey Pot Pie, but no the pkg was a Chicken Pot Pie and it was very heavy with a herb like sage or rosemary. We enjoy a pot pie for an easy meal, not too often. We have been loyal Marie Callender customers. Just wondered if anyone else, noticed the new herbs in the gravy??

Changes have not made it better

I've been getting this product for several years but I'm not sure I'll buy it again. The directions for cooking have changed from keeping it in the box with the silver circle over the pie, an in between one that I don't remember the details and now tear the top off the box. Over the years the crust, which is why I used to get it because the crust was so flaky, is now thick and gummy the chicken lost taste somewhere.

Quality has declined

I just finished A chicken Pot Pie, and not near as good as I remember several years ago. I do not think there is as much chicken as there use to be. What seems worse about them are the carrots do not seem completely cooked and have a freezer burn taste to them. I like carrots, but they either need to be pre cooked or cut smaller, so they will be completly cooked with the pie. Cooked at 405 Deg. for 1hr 10 min, so the pie was completly cooked. I use foil around the edge of the pie, and the crust was perfect. This is the third pot pie that has been this way, so it may be awhile before I buy another one. Hope the next one I get is better.

Where's all the filling?

I love your pot pie but this time it seemed like the inside was pretty hollow? What happened guys? It tastes great but I feel like you guys are downsizing. Please don't do this because you are going to lose my business. Don't be like Subway. They are going skimpy and they lost a long loyal customer.

Unpleasant taste and structure

Pot pie crusts should be light and airy and enhance the taste. MC chicken pot pies have a heavy, thick crust that is basically inedible unless you are starving. The crust dominates the pie, lending the whole pie to taste like overly-cooked dough. The chicken also has an unpleasant taste. One wonders if MC ever actually ever ate one of these pies, as if they did, they wouldn't sell them. A much better pie is the KC chicken pot pie for a starting benchmark. The MC pot pies are overpriced too. They should be pulled from stores until they can put out an edible pie.

Telling it like it is

I would like to start by saying all of the products under the MARIE CALLANDER branding have been a cut above and i have never minded paying extra for the quality. the reason I am writing it seems that the quality control is slipping I have been finding more bone and grissel and such in all of the meals. I do realize that a certian amount of un-wanted elements are allowed. and that production cost keep you competitive in the market. But let me tell you that I will Pay extra for the BEST possible products available

Best made in the oven.

I was surprised by the low rating on this item so I thought I'd weigh in on this product. We get these all the time. You can make them in the microwave or conventional oven. If you make them in the microwave you get a soggy crust that really does not do this product any favors. Make them in the oven, and you will get a nice golden crispy crust.

Great product

Great cheater meal for when you're tired and too lazy to make anything. Tastes great, easy. Just a warning if made in the oven allow to cool down a good 5 minutes, even then the inside is like lava. Never microwaved so unsure how that cooking method is.
