TurboTax Opportunity to improve

Usually a good product but always checking just before e-file and finds more issues even the software indicated that the return has no error/issue and is ready to file. I get the same issue issue every year. Why the software can't check all entries before indicating ready to e-file? Some of instructions are not very clear (but so IRS instructions). A lot of information for both federal and state returns should be copied from previous year's TurboTax return to minimize data entry and making mistake at starting of each return. This will save a lot of time and frustration to enter some information.

Turbo Tax can be frustrating.

Some of your questions are confusing. I am a college graduate and actually had to go back and completely redo my taxes to get rid of your program telling me I needed a form that I did NOT need. I think your initial question about wages paid to officers vs employees was misleading. The officer IS an employee, and your program did not make the designation clear.

TurboTax is going downhill rapidly

OK, but won't talk to Quickbooks online which Intuit forced us into last year. Not sure what we'll use next year, but after 20 years of using Quickbooks and TurboTax, it's clear that Intuit is prioritizing their own profits over customer satisfaction and so we're going to do something else. Also, we file state taxes in Colorado which doesn't efile. If you click "file online" the software will not file your state tax return, or give you any warning or that you need to file the state taxes by mail. You can only find out by going BACK, selecting "File by Mail" and then you'll see the CO filing instructions. Really easy to miss.

merger the online and desktop versions

Generally, this worked better than I expected. Except for I crucial part: My QB reports could not be transferred over to TurboTax, since I have the online version, not the desktop version. This is terrible. Intuit is one company, and shouldn't have this stupid limitation for users. And easy fix is a not that flags users that have the online version, where they can download a report that can be uploaded into the Biz Desktop version. That would save massive amounts of time.

Turbotax did the job with a couple of Problems

Turbotax Business did a good job of most things. However it left me high and dry on two items. The first was distributing the UBIA to the partners. Turbotax gave an error but no clue to the problem, The second was the Form 8283 that was not populated by Turbotax. It only gave me a error when I tried to e-file. There was no help or instructions for the form.

TurboTax Business Desktop Issues

The Desktop version of TurboTax Business was very hard to find online. TurboTax kept steering me back to the online version which I did not want. Also, I followed the instructions to print, sign, upload and attach a form but TurboTax Business refused to attach the signed version. I repeated the steps multiple times with the same result. Finally, I had to e-file the unsigned version. It was very frustrating.

Business turbo Tax is Good not great

I was surprised at the number of adjustments I had to make because items did not flow through from the federal return. Not pulling the state tax addback from federal trust return on to WI Trust return and on WI return the CG information did not carryover correctly from federal return - amounts from Schedule D and the CL carryover. On Wi underpayment penalty calculation the PY tax did not flow through either which I would have expected given I used the software last year.

Good Expereince

The experience was great. I wish there was a little more information regarding where to put some service business cost of sales items. Otherwise really clear and easy to understand. I would also have like Montana Partnership to be an available option.

TurboTax For 1041's is better than nothing

This version (1041 for Trusts) pales in comparison to the Turbo Tax Personal version. It is much, much more difficult to enter information, there is little to no guidance on entering data on common forms, and the error-checking is ambiguous and circumspect--in one case, not thoroughly identifying the error. Even if the file passes through the menus to "Ready to file," an error (printing PA Trust return, to be specific), still pops up at the "Print for filing" stage, without describing what the error is or how to correct it. Simply ignoring it is the work-around, and that seems to have worked fine last year as well. Given some of the complexities in filing a non-personal return, it is better than nothing. It would be great if Intuit let the 1041 programmers out of the basement and into the light so that they could provide a product as good as the Personal Tax program created by their co-workers.

Easy to Complete Forms But...

The instructions were thorough and the forms easy to complete. I would have awarded 5 stars except opening the form was not easy. When I clicked on the TurboTax Business 2024 application icon or the previously worked on tax return, I was taken to 2023 versions. I finally figured out how to open my 2024 file, but it should have been much easier.
