I initially filled out my taxes online but when I saw the ridiculously expensive cost to file as the only option was live agent assist (which i did not need), I switched to the Desktop version. I had no way to pull all the information I already entered online into the desktop application so I had to re-enter all of it, doubling the work. It makes no sense why the only web/browser options is the one with live agent assist. You should make the desktop version available on web too because the questions are the exact same, or allow it to import previous years data from online and vice versa, and sync information. Additionally I had multiple issues downloading the software because of issues on the website and I had to call in for tech support, which could have been avoided if the web option had the same price point and option without live agent.

TurboTax makes my yearly Business and Personal taxes easy to do. It pulls from the previous year's taxes so that things are already set up to start with. Then it allows you to change or add as needed. Lastly, filing is easy whether you file electronically or by mail. I have been using TurboTax since the 1990's and have never been disappointed with it.

First time ever filing taxes for the family Trust. The IRS instructions are lengthy, complex, and not easy to follow. Very grateful to Turbo Tax. They were invaluable in guiding me thru the forms and the many additional schedules required. Well done!

I have a German computer and was unable to correctly enter the partnership percentages. It would not take any format, copy and paste, etc. The only solution was to send the file to another US computer, correct these entries and send back to my computer. I do not understand why there is nothing I can do to make the percentages of ownership correct.

I wish it would allow us to e-file W2's with the desktop version without uploading sensitive information to a cloud account to store there all year. I have been checking daily since January 4th so I could print W2's to distribute to our employees. Eleven days feels like forever to wait in January without any idea when the forms would be ready.

This was my first time doing an estate tax return (my parents very small estate). It was not difficult and what I did not understand , it was fairly easy to find the right answer. My biggest complaint is the cost. This is a very expensive program. It was $171 for Fed and $55 for the state. The personal versions of Turbo tax are a much better deal and they are on "sale" sort of at the beginning of tax season. I wish they had a smaller version for less cost.

This was my first time using TurboTax Business to submit taxes for a trust. My biggest issue is that I was surprised that there was no user interface or instructions within the product to support entry of a 1099-R. Even if the IRS has different requirements for handling 1099-Rs, to help your users, TurboTax should provide a user friendly way to enter the 1099-R information, and then handle the information to meet the IRS requirements. Instead, the users are left to search through the messages of other users, and read IRS and State instructions. Additionally, I wanted taxes to be paid by the trust, not the beneficiaries. Even after searching and reading through input from other users, the only way I could figure to do this was to say that I did not make any distributions in 2024 (so the trust paid the taxes). The trust will have very little income in 2025, so I'll report the distributions and generate K-1s next year. Hopefully, this won't get me in trouble. On the positive side, this was certainly easier than filling out all of the forms manually.

TurboTax gets more confusing every year. It never uses the same depreciation schedule as QuickBooks and makes it increasingly difficult to override the Turbo Tax calculations. The documentation and help features are worse every year as well. insult to injury, it forces me to log into Intuit to use a product I have downloaded from Intuit.

You cannot file electronically it says the name of trust Name info is to large for the space ??? But you have wording in there See Grantor Trust etc. etc taking up the space pls fix this cost me over $140 for this program to only use the trust portion which should be separate as there is little to it. Sow know I have to mail ???? can i get a refund the program is useless. please advise

My experience was mixed. Several times I had to look on the web for information that the form brought up but didn't explain -- Example -- what is the four letter code I need at the end to file electronically and where do I find it (Community Help said to go back to the IRS form giving me the EIN). Another time I was asked if I want to carry an NOL forward, then told the proper form and where to find it -- but it wasn't there.
