[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this tape for many years, even before 3M sent me the sample of Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser. It works wonderfully well to close up boxes and packages for shipping and storage. I like that I can write on it with permanent marker or ball-point pen. Postage labels adhere without difficulty. My most frequent use is for "laminating" prayer cards, recipe cards, art, and other items that I want to keep safe from continued handling and moisture. Much more cost-effective and easier to use than a laminating machine - portable, too! Can you tell that I really, really like this tape? WOW!

Based on all of the rave reviews, I must have received a bad batch or something. I got a small box of these 1.5" cores on the plastic dispensers. I took one small roll (out of the small box of them) with me to a convention, so that I could pack up everything when the show was complete. When I put it on the first box, I noticed that something was very wrong. It would barely stick to the box. I noticed that it would barely even stick to my fingers. I then tried to seal a couple boxes with it. However, buy the time I got to the next box, it was already coming off of the previous box. When pulled it off of the roll, it was nearly as sticky on the "adhesive" side as it was on the back. This was huge mess for me. It was the only roll of tape I had (I only had 6-7 boxes to seal). When I got back, I noticed that the other brand-new rolls were the same. Very disappointing. :-(

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. As someone who often ships cartons of items, I was amazed to discover this product. I have always bought Scotch Packaging Tape but never tried the "Heavy Duty." This product far surpasses other packaging tapes due to its strong super holding power. Because it was so effective, I used much less tape on the package which will save money in the long run and also makes me feel like the package is more secure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent a roll of Scotch Heavy Duty Packing tape to try out. The timing was excellent as I had several things to return. I really like that the tape doesn't split or tear as you roll it off the dispenser. The adhesive is really strong even on boxes with a slick finish. I also put together some boxes to use as storage. The tape is really strong and secured the bottom of the boxes of books with no trouble.

It was a pleasant surprise to be able to use one single piece of tape to be able to fully secure a box. (Most tape requires several passes.) The cutter easily allows cleanly trim a piece to your desired length. When you find a quality item like this, you should stick to it. :-)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a free sample to test. Holds very secure. Water does not penetrate thru tape. I used when packing my antique china. My only complaint is that the tape adheres to the dispenser and is a little difficult to loosen the tape so you can pull it forward.

Doesn't get too caught up on the tape cutter piece and seems to do a good job sealing boxes without lifting around the corners. I did not receive any negative feedback on the couple of packages I sent in terms of poor packaging or things came undone. Only wish this was a bit bigger to handle more tape.

I have had it now for 10+ years, it still works like it did when it was new : EXCELLENTLY! Easy to load, easy to use, and very powerful and durable. Mine has my hane wrote on it, and if you use it - you BETTER PUT IT BACK; it does have a home ;)
