[Employee of 3m-scotch] We purchased this product a month ago and used it to seal boxes we were using to move. Everything looked great, until we went to move. The tape kept falling off of the boxes and the boxes were opening while being transported to and from the truck. It was a nightmare! We can't believe that what used to be the "best go to product in the business" fell apart as much as it did.

It never tears when I am wrapping a box unlike other cheaper brands.You get what you pay for.And when I wrap the box I know I will not have any problems with the tape not holding,or not sticking.

Worst design I have ever seen in a tape gun, just how difficult does such a device need to be?! The cutter does not cut when it is supposed to, I had to press the tape into it with fingers millimeters from the teeth, or cut it with a separate blade, all while holding the package together with the other hand. Then the tape stuck to the guide bar disallowing dispensing. I would further complain that the plastic parts broke easily, but that was when it hit the far wall with an overhand throw.

I needed to send a large package across the country to my brother and I used this Heavy Duty tape and it worked great ! I had no concerns that there would be any problems with shipping. I know the tape would hold and I did not need to worry that the seams or corners could come open. The built in dispenser is a wonderful feature, makes it so easy to use. I would recommend this product. !

We had water soaked boxes and a mess . But the boxes we got and the Scotch brand movers tape made it a breeze to repack the damaged boxes and move them to a different place. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M recently sent me a free sample of their Scotch Heavy Duty Shipping Packaging Tape with Dispenser to evaluate. I frequently send packages to Germany, as my granddaughters live here. I always use Scotch Heavy Duty Packing Tape for my packages. I trust it to keep my boxes sealed tight, even when they get sent to Canada by mistake ( by the post office) and look like they were dropped about a hundred times! It's easy to use and holds tight. I won't use anything else!

Based on all of the rave reviews, I must have received a bad batch or something. I got a small box of these 1.5" cores on the plastic dispensers. I took one small roll (out of the small box of them) with me to a convention, so that I could pack up everything when the show was complete. When I put it on the first box, I noticed that something was very wrong. It would barely stick to the box. I noticed that it would barely even stick to my fingers. I then tried to seal a couple boxes with it. However, buy the time I got to the next box, it was already coming off of the previous box. When pulled it off of the roll, it was nearly as sticky on the "adhesive" side as it was on the back. This was huge mess for me. It was the only roll of tape I had (I only had 6-7 boxes to seal). When I got back, I noticed that the other brand-new rolls were the same. Very disappointing. :-(

I bought this tape to secure typical brown moving boxes. The tape fails miserably and does not stick. I've gone through several roles, and always come back to boxes with the tape hanging off, after coming loose because it does not stick. This answers the question why, if you receive a box by mail, it is encased I'm the tape. It's an attempt to secure the package. I'm sure that sales are,high because you have to use so much for every box. It's a junky product.
